Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 101 Ron Weasley

Chapter 101 Ron Weasley

Chapter 101 Ron Weasley

It started raining again outside the castle, and the night was as dark as thick, unyielding ink.

In the empty corridor, Belvina walked quickly, as if impatient. She did not refuse the headmaster's kindness out of tact, but instead left directly with the Gryffindor trio.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione followed behind, exchanging winks and looking slightly reluctant, as if they didn't want to return to the common room with the professor.

The three children didn't have a problem with Belvina, who was from Slytherin. On the contrary, they really liked this very charismatic professor and had even seriously discussed whether to take Muggle Studies next year.

They seemed somewhat reluctant because they had many things to discuss: the Chamber of Secrets, the Heir, and the strange sounds that Harry could hear but others couldn't.

Despite having a high regard for Belvina, she is, after all, a professor, and she is somewhat of a hindrance.

This is also why Belvina walked so quickly; the three little ones wore their hearts on their faces, how could anyone not see it?

And so, the strange group of one big and three small quickly reached the seventh floor of the castle and stood in the open space in front of the portrait of the Fat Lady, behind which was the Gryffindor common room.

"Alright, I'll stop here," Belvina said, glancing curiously at the dozing fat lady. The interactive portrait was much more interesting than that broken wall in Slytherin.

While both are common rooms, Gryffindor's is a tower offering a bird's-eye view of the campus, Slytherin's is a dungeon, and the Black Lake's view room is a different story. Harry, Gryffindor, and Slytherin quickly and politely thanked her, making a move to give the password to return to the common room, but how could their flawed feints possibly fool Belvina?

"You'd better get back to the lounge right now and stop wandering around," Belvina said. "Get a good night's sleep; tomorrow is another day."

Ron and Hermione nodded repeatedly, assuring each other that they would return to the common room and their respective dormitories immediately, but they didn't move an inch or utter a command.

Harry, on the other hand, seemed a bit strange, looking as if he wanted to say something but hesitated, as if he had something on his mind but didn't know whether he should say it or not.

"Mr. Potter, are you feeling unwell?" Belvina asked with concern. "If you don't mind, I can give you a ride to the school clinic on my way. Don't worry, Mrs. Pomfrey won't feel bothered."

The young and inexperienced Harry didn't understand Belvina's voice-over. He tugged at the stubborn strand of hair on his head and hesitantly asked, "Professor—what's a Squib?"

At this moment, Belvina noticed the subtle movements between the trio: Ron subtly tugged at Harry's sleeve, and Hermione was shaking her head slightly.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione were still too young at this point. Their winks and subtle gestures, which they thought were cleverly concealed, were easily spotted by any of the professors—except Gilderoy Lockhart.

"A Squib is someone who comes from a wizarding family but doesn't have magical abilities. Unlike Muggles, they can see things that Muggles can't see and hear things that Muggles can't hear," Belvina said. "Muggles can't see Lord Nicholas, but Squibs can."

As she spoke, Belvina looked at Hermione and continued, "There's a theory that Muggle-born wizards are likely descendants of Squibs. Maybe Miss Granger is related to Hector Granger."

Harry and Ron looked at each other, and they saw the same question in each other's eyes: Hector Granger, who was that?

Hector Dagworth Granger, founder of the Society of Extraordinary Pharmacists.

"Alright, is there anything else?" Belvina looked at Harry. "If there aren't any other questions, I'm leaving now, really leaving!"

"What about the Chamber of Secrets?" Harry asked. "What's the Chamber of Secrets all about, and who inherited it?"

Ron and Hermione looked over as well. The words were deeply etched into their minds. They wouldn't be able to sleep until they understood the details.

"The Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin is a very, very old legend," Belvina said. "The story is long and can't be explained in a sentence or two. You just need to know that the Chamber of Secrets is just a legend."

This was the easiest time for Belvina to lie, because Harry and his two companions were still inexperienced and couldn't see through the elective professor's lie for the time being.

"Professor, legends usually have some basis in fact, don't they?" Hermione asked doubtfully. "If the Chamber of Secrets doesn't exist, how come there are legends about it in the school, and—"

"And the words on the wall are clearly written, Professor Black," Ron continued, speaking for Hermione. "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Beware of those who oppose the Heir!"

Ron Weasley, the youngest son of the Weasley family, may not be as smart as Bill, Charlie, and Percy, nor as likable as Fred and George, and sometimes he is not as noticeable as his little sister Ginny.

Wizard chess is probably the only thing Ron is good at. Would someone who is extremely good at wizard chess be stupid?

From Malfoy's threat alone, Ron guessed something: his good friend Hermione must be the enemy of the Heir.

Ron's sudden display of intelligence surprised not only Belvina, but also Harry and Hermione. The Gryffindor's "King of the Rice" had suddenly become the rising star of the trio!

Having already prepared her story, Belvina continued her lie, saying, "For centuries, schools have organized countless searches for the secret room, but they have never found the so-called secret room, nor have they been able to prove that the secret room actually exists."

In fact, Belvina not only knew that the Chamber of Secrets existed, but she also knew who the heir to Slytherin was. This was a blessing from the Black family's profound heritage and a precious legacy left by the family.

"Alright, let's leave this to Professor Dumbledore," Belvina continued. "What you all need to do now is go back to your beds and get a good night's sleep. Let Professor Dumbledore worry about the Chamber of Secrets and the Heir!"

Having said that, Belvina smiled and waved her hand, showing no intention of leaving early. She wanted to see the three of them return to the common room. Harry, who was hesitant to speak, Ron, who had a brief moment of brilliance followed by silence, and Hermione, who was eager to try. The Gryffindor trio had no choice but to give the command and go into the passage behind the portrait of the Fat Lady.

The portrait of the Fat Lady closed up again, and the passageway into the Gryffindor common room disappeared.

Belvina sighed softly. Last year it was Quirinus Quirrell and Voldemort, and this year it's the Slytherin heir and the Chamber of Secrets. What a hassle.

Belvina turned and left, this time walking slowly, looking preoccupied. She had once read Orion's student diary, which mentioned things related to the secret room.

Fifty years ago, the secret room was opened and a girl died; fifty years later, the secret room was opened again, and Filch's cat was the first to suffer.

The wind outside the castle grew stronger, the night rain carried snowflakes, and the snowflakes held raindrops. Belvina walked step by step back to her lounge, surrendering her body and soul to the soft bed.

No matter who opened the secret room, the hidden dangers in the school cannot threaten Belvina. She is a pureblood, a genuine pureblood.

Get a good night's sleep first, and leave tomorrow's problems for tomorrow. As for the Slytherin heir and the Chamber of Secrets, who cares!

What's there to be afraid of? A guy hiding in the shadows, a guy who took down Mrs. Lorris!
