Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 151 Year-End

Chapter 151 Year-End

Chapter 151 Year-End

After that night, Belvina went about her life as usual, attending classes and eating meals as if nothing had happened.

After that night, Dumbledore began to appear and disappear mysteriously again, and the middle seat in the faculty section was often empty. If the headmaster had attendance records, his attendance record would be terrible.

After that night, Hagrid's mood visibly declined. He often wandered the edge of the Forbidden Forest, but he did not venture deep into the forest as before, nor did he go to the hollow where the eight-eyed giant spider was located.

Hagrid's dejected mood might be due to his worry about Aragog, his move to the distant Forbidden Forest, or perhaps he heard something from the creatures of the Forbidden Forest, or maybe he saw through Dumbledore's lies.

Hagrid, drowning his sorrows in alcohol, began frequenting the Hog's Head pub, drinking, playing cards, and sometimes staying in Hogsmeade all night.

In this strange atmosphere, summer quietly arrived, and the sky, like the lake, turned into a pale blue with a purplish hue.

The mandrakes in the greenhouse also mature when summer arrives.

From the very first herbalism class for second-year students, Mandrake went through a long period of time before poor Mr. Colin Crevey was finally able to leave the school hospital.

Just as long as the mandrake's maturation time was the Ministry of Magic's trial of Lockhart.

With no witnesses present, the Ministry of Magic sentenced Gilderoy Lockhart to ten years in prison based solely on his own testimony.

Gilderoy Lockhart will spend his long ten-year sentence in Azkaban, accompanied day and night by the fearsome Dementors. The possibility of Lockhart's release upon completion of his sentence is virtually zero.

Strangely, from the time Lockhart was brought to the Ministry of Magic to await trial, to his trial, and then to his transfer to Azkaban, Mrs. Lockhart, who had always doted on him, never appeared once.

As May drew to a close, news spread throughout Hogwarts, causing a panic no less intense than that in the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin.

The final exams for the 1992-1993 academic year will be held on June 1st. That means students will only have one week left to review.

Reviewing, exams—such unfamiliar vocabulary!

The students thought that after experiencing so many hardships this year, the school would understand their difficulties and cancel the final exams to make things easier for them after a long and anxious academic year.

As a result, the final exams were not canceled, but were held as scheduled. Does Hogwarts still have any humanity? Does Dumbledore still have any humanity?

Bathed in dazzling sunlight, Hogwarts was a scene of utter desolation, with students grumbling and complaining. Their intense discontent made them even more resentful than vengeful spirits.

At the Gryffindor table, Ron, holding a jam-filled donut in each hand, loudly complained, "Exams? You expect me to take an exam with this? One of us is guaranteed to walk out sideways!"

Everyone's gaze fell on the extremely peculiar wand on the table. It could no longer be called a wand; it was more like a thin wooden stick that had been held together by magic tape.

"For the first half of the school year, we were all worried about that old bastard Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets and his pets. Who was paying attention in class?" Ron continued to complain, and the Gryffindors nodded in agreement.

From the eve of Halloween, Hogwarts was shrouded in the shadow of the Chamber of Secrets of Slytherin, and people were filled with anxiety, with few able to concentrate on their studies.

Once the alarm in Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets was lifted, the relieved students began to celebrate wildly, rejoicing that they had overcome a difficult situation.

Celebrating everyone's miraculous survival.

Study hard—study my ass!

Seeing everyone agree, Mr. Ronald Weasley's exuberant nature took over, and he continued, "The biggest problem is still Defense Against the Dark Arts. Apart from not bringing living things into the classroom, have we learned anything else?"

Thanks to Gilderoy Lockhart, the first semester's Defense Against the Dark Arts was completely transformed into literature appreciation and drama performance, and the students learned nothing.

After finally getting Lockhart under control, Snape became the substitute teacher, and Defense Against the Dark Arts became torture.

A torment, especially for Gryffindor.

"Mr. Ronald Weasley."

"Who?" Ron looked up in the direction the voice came from, and then he saw Professor McGonagall's serious face and her meticulously styled hair.

"Mr. Ronald Weasley, if you had read the exam notice carefully, you would know that the final exam does not include Defense Against the Dark Arts," Professor McGonagall said. "Also, if you do not do well on your exam, I will certainly write to Mrs. Weasley."

All the Gryffindors were stunned, and Harry's bright green eyes widened in disbelief. No one had told them that Defense Against the Dark Arts wouldn't be on the exam!

Ron, who was on the verge of tears, wanted to find a place to crawl into. He blamed his own mouth for having to spout nonsense in the auditorium!

"Now, return to your seats and eat," Professor McGonagall said, "if you don't want me to write to your parents."

The Gryffindors scattered like birds and beasts, and Professor McGonagall left the Great Hall, leaving Ron alone to bear the turmoil in his heart.

Harry patted Ron on the shoulder, wanting to comfort his friend but unsure how to begin. Harry was also worried about the upcoming final exams.

"Try to look on the bright side, Mr. Ronald Weasley," Hermione said softly. "Fifth and seventh year students have it much worse than you; they have to take the Wizarding Level exams, and their Defense Against the Dark Arts exams haven't been canceled."

Upon hearing that someone was in a worse situation than him, Ron's mood improved somewhat, though he was on the verge of tears.

The sunny month of June arrived as scheduled, but the students' moods were anything but cheerful; overcast skies were the norm. With one exam after another tormenting them, it would be a miracle if they could even smile.

Laughter only returned to the campus after all the exams were over; at least until the exam results were announced, students could play and have fun.

To the students' surprise, although Hogwarts and Dumbledore conducted the final exams inhumanely, they suddenly regained their humanity at the year-end banquet.

That evening, the Great Hall was decorated in red and gold, the colors representing Gryffindor, to celebrate their successful defense of the House Cup and Quidditch Cup. A huge banner depicting the Gryffindor lion hung on the wall behind the faculty seating area.

Headmaster Dumbledore stood up and, as usual, began by summarizing the major events and important matters of the academic year.

The students, full of inner monologues, outwardly clapped along, but inwardly cursed the principal, wishing that all the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans he ate would taste like earwax.

Then, Dumbledore thanked Belvina and the other two for their contributions to the school once again.

Then Dumbledore mentioned Professor Sprout who cultivated the mandrake, Madam Pomfrey who cared for the sick, and Snape who helped brew the potion, thanking them one by one.

The students, whose inner monologues were getting increasingly intense, still clapped along, while subtly cursing the headmaster, wishing that every single one of his Chocolate Frog pictures was Albus Dumbledore.

"Finally, there is one last thing," Dumbledore said with a smile. "Based on some events that have occurred this academic year, and as a gesture of goodwill, the school has decided not to release the exam results."

Instantly, the students' inner monologues vanished, and they stopped secretly cursing the principal. Thunderous applause resounded throughout the auditorium.

Not releasing the results means that no matter how badly everyone's exam scores turn out, they can still have a fun summer vacation.

Of course, fifth and seventh graders are an exception; they will still receive their level exam certificates during the summer vacation.
