Chapter 253 Brother-in-law and Brother-in-law

While waiting for the flames to heat up, Belvina explained why she didn't allow people to place bets.

Ludo Bagman, who has almost lost everything, is now in dire straits. Betting on him is no better than throwing money down the drain.

Skipping a stone at least creates ripples on the surface, but throwing it to Ludo Bagman would likely not even make a sound.

While everyone was talking and chatting, you could always see Ministry of Magic officials passing by, running back and forth.

Whenever Ministry of Magic officials passed by, they would stop to greet Mr. Weasley warmly and chat with Belvina for a few minutes.

Such as Cuthbert Mocrech, head of the Fairy Liaison Office; Gilbert Wimpour of the Experimental Spells Committee; and Arnold Pisgood of the Reversal of Accidental Magical Events Group, among others.

Many people came and went, but no one ever came up with a higher official rank than Belvina.

About an hour later, the fire in front of the tent finally caught fire, and Mr. Weasley began frying eggs and cooking sausages, while Sirius helped bake bread.

As if drawn by the scent, just as lunch was being prepared, Bill, Charlie, and Percy emerged from the woods one after another.

"Great! Food's here as soon as I get back!" Percy exclaimed as he walked. "I'm exhausted!"

He plopped down next to Belvina, seemingly about to give a report, but his mouth was stuffed full of sausage and bread.

It is difficult to change a person's habits in a short period of time; it takes time to adjust and adapt.

After eating and drinking her fill, Belvina went alone into the Black family's tent. She planned to take a break during the afternoon. No matter how unremarkable the wizard's tent looked from the outside, the interior space was enough to make Muggles' jaws drop.

Mr. Weasley's tent was an old-fashioned three-bedroom house, while the Black family's tent was a large single-level house with five bedrooms and three living rooms.

Each bedroom has its own bathroom.

Belvina went into the bedroom closest to the tent entrance, closed her eyes, lay down fully clothed, and fell asleep without realizing it.

While Belvina was asleep, someone of higher rank finally visited both of their tents.

The first high-ranking official from the Ministry of Magic to arrive was Ludo Bagman, who came full of anticipation but ultimately left empty-handed.

Nobody placed even a single bronze knit with Bagman.

Not only did no one place bets, Sirius Black also gave him a hard time, openly and secretly calling him an incompetent fool.

After Ludo Bagman slunk away, Barty Crouch arrived.

The head of the International Magical Cooperation Department also came and went in a hurry. Upon learning that Belvina was resting, Barty Crouch took his leave. Before leaving, Barty Crouch instructed Mr. Weasley not to disturb Belvina's rest, as he could handle the World Cup matters on his own.

It's somewhat understandable that he didn't follow the instructions of Belvina's older brother, Sirius, since humans find it hard to forgive their own mistakes.

It was Barty Crouch's misjudgment that led to Sirius Black's twelve-year wrongful imprisonment. It's understandable that Crouch was unwilling to face Sirius Black and his own mistakes.

However, the instruction not to disturb Belvina's rest seemed somewhat strange, though it was hard to pinpoint exactly why.

Although no one entered the tent to disturb the sleeping Belvina, she was still woken up in the afternoon.

As the start of the World Cup Finals draws ever closer, excitement spreads like a virus throughout the camp.

The voices of the people talking to each other grew louder and louder, and everyone couldn't help but check the time. Every minute and every second of waiting for the game to start became extremely difficult. As dusk approached, the impatient wizards tore off their last bit of disguise, and all sorts of magical traces emerged from every corner of the camp.

Vendors selling their goods descended from the sky, their figures visible everywhere in the camp, doing their utmost to promote their wares.

Only then did Belvina lead Percy away from the tent.

Belvina's departure was certainly not to deal with the chaos in the camp; she had no intention of going against everyone.

With the finals just around the corner, she's not like Ludo Bagman, who's heartless and can ignore the work right in front of her.

Following the magically restored road, Belvina and Percy traversed the forests of Heimer, heading towards the magnificent, colossal stadium.

This stadium, built with great effort by the Ministry of Magic, is large enough to hold 100,000 spectators, and every inch of the stadium’s grounds and walls are enchanted with Muggle expulsion charms.

With their feet on a crimson carpet, Belvina and Percy climbed the steps to the VIP box on the top floor of the stadium.

After waiting in the top-floor private room for a short while, people started coming in one after another.

Most wizards who can enter the top-floor suite are people of status, either high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Magic of various countries or people with illustrious backgrounds.

Belvina kept shaking hands with people and greeting each guest warmly; her fake smile had almost become a permanent feature of her Korean style.

Percy, standing to the side, was also all smiles and kept bowing. Several times he bowed so deeply that he almost dropped his glasses on the ground.

"This is Babajid Akinbad of the International Federation of Wizards—" Belvina introduced a wizard who looked very African to Percy. "This is Hassan Mustafa, president of the International Federation of Quidditch and also the referee for tonight's match—" Belvina then introduced a wizard with a large beard wearing a golden robe.

While Belvina was attentively greeting each guest, she also managed to introduce their names and identities, making Percy, her assistant, seem quite incompetent.

But Percy didn't lose heart; instead, he became even more determined, wanting to be as composed as Belvina.

Over the next half hour, the VIP box gradually filled up. Sirius Black, Lupin, and Mr. Weasley also led the children into the box.

At that moment, Cornelius Fudge entered with a wizard dressed in a black velvet robe with gold trim; the man was the Bulgarian Minister of Magic.

Upon entering, Cornelius Fudge immediately saw Belvina and sent out a distress signal as if he had seen a savior.

"Belvina, come quick! I can't communicate with him anymore!" Fudge exclaimed. "He doesn't understand a word of English, and I can only use gestures. I'm exhausted!"

Cornelius Fudge was quite frustrated; he simply couldn't handle the Bulgarian Minister of Magic.

Belvina stepped forward; she had previously met the Bulgarian Minister of Magic during the semi-finals.

"Minister," Belvina whispered in Fudge's ear, "he speaks English, but he likes to pretend he doesn't to amuse people."

Upon hearing this, Cornelius Fudge looked puzzled.

The Bulgarian Minister of Magic spoke up at the opportune moment, saying fluently in English, "Don't you think this is fun?"

"This isn't fun at all!" Fudge said irritably. "You speak English, yet you've made me gesticulate for ages! It's not fun at all!"

"But it's really fun!" the Bulgarian minister said, shrugging.

Leaving aside the distraught Cornelius Fudge and the other minister, who was known for his playful nature, an unexpected commotion broke out on the other side of the VIP box on the top floor.

The sharp-tongued Lucius Malfoy has once again clashed with Mr. Weasley.

"Good heavens, to see you here, Arthur," Lucius Malfoy said dismissively. "Did you sell that pigsty of a house—let's just say that—did you?"

"I should be surprised, Lucius," Mr. Weasley retorted without backing down. "That someone like you could get into the penthouse."

Lucius Malfoy attacked Mr. Weasley for being poor, so Mr. Weasley retaliated by bringing out the Death Eaters.

"It's been a long time, Lucius," Sirius stood up from his seat, "and Narcissa, it's been a long time since we last saw each other, hasn't it?"

Seeing Sirius Black approaching step by step, Lucius Malfoy unconsciously took a half step back.

Behind Malfoy, Narcissa haughtily turned her head away, as if she disdained to speak to her long-lost cousin.

"It's been a long time, Black," Lucius Malfoy said coldly. "Looks like Azkaban didn't manage to ruin your health."

That's truly something to celebrate!

Narcissa Malfoy still had that arrogant and disdainful look about everything.

Compared to Belvina and Sirius, she is more in line with the public's preconceived notions about the Black family.

"Don't worry, Lucius, Azkaban isn't as scary as you think," Sirius reassured him. "They're just Dementors, nothing to be afraid of, right?"

Upon hearing this, Lucius Malfoy's face darkened, and he clenched his fists. He understood Sirius's veiled sarcasm.

"You know what? I always thought I'd see you in Azkaban," Sirius continued, "but I waited twelve whole years and you still haven't come. You're such a disappointment!"

Sirius paused for a moment, then continued, "You dare to do it but not admit it? Pfft—" He clicked his tongue, "You call this a man? How about I lend you a hand?"

As he spoke, Sirius's gaze gradually shifted downwards.

"you!"

Lucius Malfoy was furious, while Narcissa behind him stared in shock at Sirius, who had spoken so rudely.

However, before Malfoy could pull out his wand, Sirius Black had already grabbed his hand, and the wand, stuck in the cane, couldn't be pulled out at all.

"Don't move, Lucius," Sirius said dismissively. "Take a step and I'll kill you."

Would Sirius Black dare to kill someone in front of so many people?

Lucius Malfoy didn't know, and didn't want to know; he dared not gamble.
