Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 26 Since We're Here

Chapter 26 Since We're Here

Belvina Black had no idea what was happening in the principal's office, nor did she want to know.

Now, all she wants to do is enjoy this rare moment of leisure, continue playing music, and continue dancing.

Being a Muggle Studies professor is such a leisurely and comfortable job, so relaxing that it wears down one's fighting spirit.

Forget about the minister's undercover mission, the principal's terrifying views, and the dark clouds hanging over the campus—all of that can step aside.

When there are classes, we reshape students' perceptions, help them understand Muggles correctly, and hope that someone will open their eyes.

When I don't have classes, I can take a stroll, go for a walk, and maybe flirt with my ancient runic sweetheart. It's the kind of life only a god could live. What more could I ask for?

The strange changes in Professor Quirrell, what is Dumbledore hiding, are these mysteries related to the Bronze Nate of the Salted Fish, who only provides support other than help?

If Dumbledore finds out that Belvina is about to make a scene, the old man's half-moon glasses will most likely be lost.

I thought you were a master from the deep mountains, but you tell me you're just an octopus from Bikini Bottom?

Are you kidding me?!

However, before she can completely give up, Belvina still needs to deal with the group of eager students to prevent anyone from stepping on her head.

Friday arrived in the blink of an eye, and Belvina hadn't received any more shouting letters for several days. The outside world seemed to have forgotten about this bastard woman, but her fame among the students was growing day by day, and her popularity was approaching that of the boy who had survived the ordeal.

The reason is simple: the new professor is witty and humorous, and treats people with a peaceful demeanor (except for Snape). Although he only shows edited Muggle films in class, the content is exciting enough. What student, except for staunch pure-blood supremacists, wouldn't like it?

This fondness is especially evident when students compare the two Muggle Studies professors.

Before teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts, Quirinus Quirrell was a professor of Muggle Studies, but students said they couldn't remember what he talked about in class, didn't discuss it heatedly after class, and it didn't spread throughout the campus.

Now, good news is coming from the delivery room: Quirrell has been promoted and become a professor of core courses, but his performance is not as good as before.

Less than a week into the new semester, Quirrell's Defense Against the Dark Arts had become a joke. His classroom was always filled with the smell of garlic, he always wore an unsightly turban, and his stuttering became an obstacle to his teaching.

It's not that I'm discriminating against people who stutter, but rather that someone like Quirrell, who stutters, is really not suited for the teaching profession.

It was the contrast with her peers, coupled with her own excellence, that allowed the young Belvina to quickly win the hearts of her students, especially those young boys just beginning to experience romantic feelings.

Sigh~ Who hasn't fantasized about a young and handsome teacher when they were young? It's just the innocent and naive thoughts in a young person's heart, nothing serious.

Some students even indulged in unrealistic fantasies. After learning that Belvina had once been tasked with protecting another minister, they actually began to imagine what interesting magic Belvina would teach them if she were a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

(Belvina: Boa, you can't think about that!)

Two big things happened at school on Friday. One was about the boy who survived the ordeal, the famous Harry Potter, who was targeted by Snape in Potions class.

I don't know what the Slytherin headmaster was thinking. Although everyone knows Batman's character, no one expected him to openly express his dislike for Harry.

This is so unlike Slytherin that it makes one wonder if Snape is a lion in snakeskin.

Another matter is Belvina's Muggle Studies class. Through observation and research in several elective classes, the eager students are ready to launch a challenge. They want to make a name for themselves at Hogwarts by defeating the new professor!

In the afternoon, the sun was shining brightly, and students entered the Muggle Studies classroom on the fifth floor one after another. They arrived early and there was no such thing as arriving at the classroom on time.

Their professor, Belvina, still sat by the window, seemingly never getting enough of the view outside.

Belvina's outfit today wasn't as glamorous; the traditional combination of a shirt, vest, and trousers looked very capable, and her cascading black hair added a touch of aloofness to the look.

If paired with an exquisite cane, today's Belvina would have an even more androgynous vibe.

However, Belvina's aloofness didn't last long. Her gaze quickly returned to the classroom, and she suddenly realized that there were too many students there.

In the previous few days of Muggle Studies class, although the number of students in the classroom exceeded the number on the roster in Belvina's hand, the excess was not by much. But today, it was not just a matter of more people; the classroom, which was not full in the past, became exceptionally crowded today.

Not only were the rows of tables and chairs full of students, but there were also students sitting on the ground in the front row, and people were standing in the aisles between the tables and chairs and in the back of the classroom. Even so, there were still students who hadn't managed to squeeze in!

Standing and seated tickets were sold out, and Belvina was wondering whether she should try selling hanging tickets to the students...

And what are you all doing here? Don't you all have classes? Are the other professors going to come and beat me up later?

Belvina walked slowly toward the podium with trepidation, each step heavy. She was just going to show a movie, it wasn't a public lecture for promotion, so why were there so many people?

That splash of fiery red in the crowd was truly eye-catching. What's Percy Weasley doing here? You've already had your class this week!

Since things have come to this, let's eat first...

No, since things have come to this, let's start class.

Belvina tucked the black hair that had fallen across her forehead behind her ear, preparing for class.

"Don't you guys have to go to class?"

Well, Belvina couldn't help but ask the question that had been bothering her. Had the Ministry of Magic approved so many Time-Turners for Hogwarts this year?

She's just a professor of elective courses, her status is equivalent to a Muggle's physical education, music, and art classes. When did these three courses become able to compete for students from core courses?

"No classes this afternoon."

"Sybil is drunk."

"Professor Binns won't find out."

Skipping class.

Belvina's eyes widened, her bright and captivating eyes sparkling with an alluring light. She felt that she might be beaten to death by the professors that night, at the age of twenty-something.

What the hell? Sybil drank too much! It's only noon! Even if Trelawney, that woman who talks a lot of nonsense, can't hold her liquor, she shouldn't be drunk by noon!

Professor Binns will never find out that, even though he never takes attendance and his History of Magic class is a popular spot for catching up on sleep, you can't just ignore a professor who has dedicated his life to education like this!

And those of you who said you skipped class, can't you even come up with an excuse? How am I supposed to explain this to the other professors?

Belvina stared speechlessly at the ceiling, wondering if she should just hang herself in front of the principal's office to prove her innocence.

"Alright, alright, we're already here." Belvina could only console herself, emphasizing in her heart that this was not her grandmother's fault, and had nothing to do with her grandmother.

Belvina continued, "Those of you who skipped class or don't have classes can sit in, but you're not allowed to disrupt class. I'll let you ask questions when it's time."

For the first time, Belvina, who never emphasized classroom discipline, demanded that it be maintained. There was no other way; there were too many students today, and she had to be strict.

Without Belvina needing to say a word, several students standing by the window spontaneously drew the curtains, instantly plunging the Muggle Studies classroom into darkness. Their efficiency was so high that even the Quidditch Seeker would be ashamed.

The film reel of the projector slowly rotated, and the images on the screen were still Muggle wars, from cold weapons to matchlock guns, from line infantry to powerful ships and cannons, and finally, the mushroom cloud of justice.

The difference is that the film shown in this class was far more gory than what the third-grade students saw.
