Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 264 Auror Moody

Chapter 264 Auror Moody

Chapter 264 Auror Moody

Belvina spent about half an hour settling her affairs before hurriedly leaving the Ministry of Magic. The place where she Apparated was an ordinary little village, seemingly unrelated to anything mysterious or strange.

However, this ordinary Muggle village is home to the Ministry of Magic's most outstanding Auror—Alastor Moody, also known as Mad-Eye Moody.

Belvina composed herself, used the village chapel to determine her location, and then walked towards a narrow, steep street.

The narrow street is lined with rows of houses, crisscrossed by paths, the houses standing neatly, and the place is quiet without a sound.

As Belvina turned the corner, a large group of people dressed very differently from Muggles came into view. They went in and out of the houses, looking out of place in this small village.

These people in robes and cloaks are wizards, all of whom are staff members of the Ministry of Magic.

There is the Office for Prohibiting the Abuse of Magic under the Department of Law Enforcement, and the Group for Reversing Accidental Magical Events under the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters.

They were all there because of the attack on Alastor Moody.

This morning, a strange and mysterious thing happened in this Muggle village that has nothing to do with the mysterious and strange. The Muggle villagers first heard a series of crashing sounds and shouts, followed by a loud bang from a dumpster, which scattered garbage everywhere.

The Muggle villagers had never seen anything like it before, so they naturally called the police to handle the strange occurrence in their village.

When the police arrived at the stinking village, they were greeted by metal garbage bins spraying trash everywhere.

Faced with such bizarre events, the Muggle police were powerless until wizards from the Ministry of Magic rushed to the scene.

The trash can only stop spraying trash after that.

The cleanup work by the Ministry of Magic staff is now nearing completion.

The Reversal of Accidental Magical Events team fixed the dumpsters and cleaned up the trash everywhere; the Memory Eraser went door-to-door, altering the Muggle villagers' memories of this morning; and the Office Against the Abuse of Magic surrounded an old house.

In the small courtyard in front of that old house, a man and a woman were discussing something in hushed tones, and the name "Moody" appeared repeatedly in their conversation.

"Ani, what should I do?"

The speaker was a small, gray-haired witch who then said to the wizard beside her, "This isn't the first time Moody has violated the law of secrecy."

Arnold Pisgood sighed and said, "Moody was an exceptionally skilled Auror, with a distinguished record of victories. The number of dark wizards he captured could fill half the cells of Azkaban."

"I know, of course I know about Moody's great achievements, but he can't—" Mafalda

Hopkirk hesitated, then said, "He can't keep being so paranoid, and we can't keep cleaning up his messes every day."

Hopkirk said angrily, "Last time, he thought he received a basilisk egg as a gift, so he smashed it to pieces without saying a word, and what happened?"

"It turned out the gift was just a travel alarm clock," Pisgood said helplessly.

“And the time before that,” Hopkirk continued, “Moody suspected someone was going to attack him from behind, and he attacked that person without hesitation. And what happened?”

"It turned out the witch just booed behind Moody; it was just an April Fool's joke," Pisgood said helplessly.

"We can't let Moody run wild any longer," Hopkirk said, becoming increasingly agitated. "We should send him to St. Mungo's until he stops being so paranoid and overly cautious!"

If the rules and regulations had been followed, Moody, who had repeatedly broken the law due to excessive caution, should have been imprisoned in Azkaban long ago. However, the Ministry of Magic did not do so, and the Department of Law Enforcement did not arrest him.

Alastor Moody was the most outstanding Auror and a hero of the Ministry of Magic. The reason he became paranoid was because he had captured too many dark wizards.

Some dark wizards were imprisoned in Azkaban, but their families were still alive; others were only imprisoned in Azkaban before being released by the Ministry of Magic on the grounds of the Imperius Curse.

Faced with this situation, how could Alastor Moody, who was getting older, not be suspicious, and how could he not feel anxious with so many enemies?

Hopkirk and Pisgood were still whispering to each other; they really didn't know what to do with Moody.

We can't bring him back to the Ministry of Magic for interrogation, but we can't just leave him alone either. Should we really send Moody to St. Mungo's for treatment?

Just as the two were scratching their heads in frustration, Belvina stepped into the yard.

"Belvina, what brings you here?" Arnold Pisgood said.

He works in the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters, and he's an old acquaintance of Belvina, so they can get along quite easily.

"Miss Black, are you here because of Moody too?" Mafalda Hopkirk asked.

She was an employee of the Department of Law Enforcement and had once been Umbridge's subordinate. She wasn't very familiar with Belvina, so her attitude was naturally more respectful.

"I've come to visit my future colleague and check if the fastest record has been broken," Belvina said with a smile. "Is Alastor inside the house?"

Hopkirk and Pisgood exchanged a glance, confirming that neither of them understood what Belvina was saying.

What is a future colleague?

Does this mean Moody is going back to the Ministry of Magic, or that he's going to Hogwarts?

Also, what does "fastest record" mean, and what kind of record is it?

"Moody's inside, and Arthur's too," Hopkirk said, pointing to the house behind him. "Hopefully Arthur can keep him calm and prevent any further trouble."

The Department of Law Enforcement was already overwhelmed with problems because of the World Cup camp riots and the Black Mark incident. Unfortunately, Moody caused trouble at this critical juncture, so it's no wonder that Hopkirk looked so bitter and resentful.

"I'll go in and talk to Alastor first to check on his condition, and then we'll discuss other matters," Belvina said. "If you have any official business to attend to, you can return to the ministry first."

Hopkirk waved his hand and said, "I'll wait in the yard. Miss Black, be careful when you go inside."

As he spoke, Mafalda Hopkirk stepped aside to make way for him, while Arnold Pisgood looked worried, as if Belvina was about to disappear forever.

"You—" "You'd better tell Moody why you're here beforehand, otherwise he might attack you," Pisgood warned. "Anyway, be careful."

Looking at Hope Kirk and Pisgood's expressions, it was as if the house in front of them was not a dwelling, but a den of dragons and tigers where death was certain.

Belvina wasn't one to ignore advice; she quietly pushed open the front door and stepped into the narrow porch.

"Arthur I—"

Before she could even utter a warning, a beam of red light streaked towards Belvina, who had just stepped into the porch.

Then, Mr. Weasley's anxious voice could be heard. He said, "Stop, Alastor! It's Belvina, Belvina Black."

"Are you alright, Belvina?" Mr. Weasley asked as he walked, quickly making his way from the living room to the porch.

"I'm fine, the wall is." Belvina pointed to the burn marks on the wall. "Alastor Moody, you really live up to your reputation."

Mr. Weasley gave a wry smile. The once-illustrious Aurors had now become frightened birds, which inevitably caused a sigh of dismay.

"Alastor, we're in. Don't be afraid."

Mr. Weasley spoke to Belvina in a gentle, soothing manner, as if coaxing a child, leading her through the porch and into the living room.

The living room, which should have been quite spacious, now feels very cramped, with various shapes of peepholes scattered everywhere.

Some spyglasses are only the size of a spinning top, while others are as big as a full-length mirror. There may be more types of spyglasses in the living room than in a store.

Alastor Moody leaned against the wall with one leg, huddled in the corner of the living room, and warily raised his wand, aiming it at the two people who entered.

After observing several times and confirming that Mr. Weasley had not been switched when he entered the living room, Moody lowered his guard and hopped to the sofa on one leg.

"Alastor, this is Belvina, Belvina Black," Mr. Weasley introduced, "the current Deputy Director of the International Department of Magical Cooperation."

Upon hearing the surname Black, Moody raised his head alertly, his bright blue magic eyes fixed on Belvina. Although they both worked for the Ministry of Magic, Belvina and Moody were not familiar with each other, had no interaction in their lives, and had little interaction at work.

During Alastor Moody's heyday, Belvina was just a little kid at school, or a newcomer to the Ministry of Magic.

By the time Belvina began to make a name for herself at the Ministry of Magic, Moody had already reached retirement age and left the Ministry.

"Besides that, I'll still be your colleague at Hogwarts, if you can still take up the post, Alastor," Belvina said.

A colleague from Hogwarts?

Is Alastor going to teach at Hogwarts?

Mr. Weasley glanced at Belvina, then at Moody.

"I'm going to Hogwarts. I'll only teach for one year, just one year. I'll do Dumbledore a favor," Moody said gruffly.

Then, Moody's normal eye looked at Belvina, and he continued in a low voice, "I know you, little girl from the Black family. How is Sirius doing? Are you doing well?"

"It's great, I hang out with Remus every day," Belvina said, glancing around the living room filled with voyeurs.

"Those two guys—" Moody muttered, "Oh, sit down, sit wherever you like, just don't break my spyglass."

As he spoke, Moody's bright blue demonic eye began to spin wildly, making it extremely uncomfortable to watch.

Belvina readily agreed and found a place to sit, a spot directly opposite Moody, allowing him to easily observe her every move.

Only then did Belvina take a closer look at Moody's ravaged face with interest.
