Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 290 Unprecedented

Chapter 290 Unprecedented

Chapter 290 Unprecedented in a Thousand Years

Night fell, and darkness gradually descended.

Everyone headed to the auditorium for the Halloween Eve dinner.

Of course, there's also the even more important Warriors Selection Ceremony, a moment everyone has been eagerly anticipating.

As the light grew dimmer, Durmstrang and his party walked from the lakeside toward the castle. Karkaroff and Krum walked side by side at the front, with the others following behind like lackeys.

Beauxbatons and his entourage also stepped out of the carriage and headed towards the castle. Leading the way were Mrs. Maxime and Hagrid, who was "dressed in his finest." The two chatted and laughed all the way, and the students following behind had to jog to keep up with their pace.

After a day of leisurely strolling, Belvina and Bassheda returned to the castle and entered the candlelit hall.

The two elective course professors walked down the aisle toward the faculty seating area, talking in hushed tones that only the two of them could hear.

"Who will be the champion of Hogwarts?" Bassheda whispered. "I hope it's Cedric Diggory."

As a professor who came from Hufflepuff, Bassheda would naturally support Cedric Diggory of Hufflepuff.

However, as a professor who came from Slytherin, Belvina would not support Warrington of Slytherin.

"How about we make a bet?" Belvina suggested in a low voice. "I bet a thousand Galleons that the champion is Harry Potter."

Bassheda rolled her eyes at Belvina and said, "Is your financial situation really that bad that you're even starting to cheat me out of my money?"

The closer someone is to you, the more precise they tend to stab you in the back. She continued, "That shouldn't be the case. You have two jobs, two salaries, how could you have financial problems?"

"Just tell me if he's a Hogwarts student, or if he can be considered a Hogwarts champion!" Belvina began her twisted logic.

No matter how Harry becomes a hero, it doesn't change the fact that he comes from Hogwarts.

"You know perfectly well I wasn't asking about Harry, and I know he'll be chosen," Bassheda said. "I was talking about someone else."

"How would I know!" Belvina shrugged. "Cedric is good, skilled and handsome. Gryffindor's Jansen is also good, dashing and charming."

Asking is pointless; Belvina herself isn't sure who will be selected.

The only thing she could guarantee was that Harry Potter's name would be chosen by the Goblet of Fire.

When the two elective course professors took their seats in the faculty section, they tacitly fell silent and stopped discussing the Warriors.

Meanwhile, their attention was all drawn to Hagrid, who was dressed to the nines. He was still wearing that extremely ugly suit, and his hair, which Niu Xuzi had licked, was still smooth and shiny.

In addition, Hagrid had a strange smell emanating from him.

"Hagrid, what do you smell like?" Paul Bernard asked. "Are you wearing cologne?"

Professor Bernard's bluntness caused Hagrid's face to turn bright red instantly. He first looked at Belvina and Basilda, who were holding their breath, and then smelled his own body.

"Doesn't it smell bad?" Hagrid asked, embarrassed. "Does it smell bad?"

Belvina and Bassheda both shook their heads. Hagrid's smell wasn't exactly unpleasant, but rather pungent.

Fortunately, none of the professors present had rhinitis, otherwise they would be sneezing and sneezing non-stop right now.

"It smells pungent, Hagrid," Bassheda's voice became muffled. "Did you spray too much?"

Hagrid sniffed himself again and said dejectedly, "Oh no, I just came here with Orim, and she's standing right next to me!"

For a fleeting moment, Belvina even wondered if Hagrid had witnessed the end of the world.

"Perhaps, I mean perhaps," Belvina said, "perhaps Mrs. Maxim's nose isn't working very well!" Her words of comfort were rather weak.

At first, Belvina naively thought Hagrid was just being greedy. After all, women of similar build to Hagrid were not common.

Now, Belvina is certain that Hagrid has fallen in love; he fell for Olim Maxim in a single day.

Hagrid's eyes didn't lie; his gaze toward Mrs. Maxime was full of love, a look he had only ever seen on Norber, the Norwegian Spinosaurus cub.

The Halloween Eve dinner began quickly. What seemed like a lavish feast to others turned out to be a pumpkin party for Belvina.

She frowned like a picky eater; the pervasive pumpkin smell had completely ruined her appetite.

Even the dishes that Bassheda carefully selected, which had nothing to do with pumpkin, failed to whet Belvina's appetite.

This meal seemed exceptionally long, so long that it felt like centuries had passed.

It wasn't just Belvina who found it unbearable; the students in the auditorium felt the same way, constantly craning their necks to look ahead, their anxiety palpable to everyone.

Just as everyone's patience was about to run out, the long and tedious Halloween Eve dinner finally came to an end. Dumbledore stood up, and the Great Hall fell silent.

The students seemed very excited, their eyes following Dumbledore's every move.

Madame Maxim and Karkaroff also looked nervous, both hoping their chosen candidate would be accepted by the Goblet of Fire.

Only one person in the entire auditorium was still oblivious: Buddy Crouch, who looked rather bored and impatient, seemingly unconcerned about who the Warriors were.

"Alright, the Goblet of Fire is about to make a decision," Dumbledore said succinctly. "When the champion's name is called, the champion will need to wait in the lounge next to the faculty seating area, where they will receive initial guidance."

Dumbledore pointed to the wooden door on one side of the Great Hall, which was the temporary lounge where Belvina had hidden last night.

Then, Dumbledore took out his wand and waved it.

The auditorium suddenly went dark, with only the candles inside the pumpkin lanterns still burning.

After a while, the blue-white flames of the Goblet of Fire burst forth with dazzling light, becoming the brightest light source in the entire arena.

Everyone in the auditorium held their breath, watching the Goblet of Fire, waiting for it to make its decision and select the warriors to participate in the Triwizard Tournament.

Soon, the blue and white flames turned red, sparks crackled and sputtered, and a tongue of fire lifted a charred parchment high into the air.

This scene made everyone in the auditorium tense up, and some people unconsciously swallowed to relieve their anxiety.

Dumbledore caught the parchment with the name written on it and said clearly and forcefully, "The warrior of Durmstrang is Viktor Krum."

Instantly, applause and cheers swept through the auditorium like a tsunami.

Viktor Krum rose from the Slytherin table under the watchful eyes of the entire room and swaggered toward the temporary lounge.

However, Krum didn't seem excited about becoming a warrior; instead, he was listless. Karkaroff, on the other hand, was unusually excited, practically jumping for joy.

"Fantastic, Viktor!" Karkaroff shouted, his voice booming through the applause and cheers, reaching everyone's ears clearly.

Karkarov clenched his fists, striking a pose of unwavering determination, and then shouted, "I knew you were destined to be a warrior! Viktor, victory is yours!"

As a dejected Krum walked into the makeshift lounge, the applause and cheers in the auditorium gradually subsided, with only Karkarov still shouting "Victory!" with all his might.

A few seconds later, the flames of the Goblet of Fire turned red again, and the flames once again carried a charred note into the air.

"The hero of Beauxbatons is Fleur Delacour," Dumbledore said clearly and forcefully.

The stunning Beauxbatons girl rose gracefully, tossed her cascading silver hair, and walked lightly toward the temporary lounge.

This time it was Mrs. Maxim's turn to be excited, but unlike Karkarov, she didn't shout and yell; instead, she clapped gracefully in response.

A broad smile.

"Miss Delacour is so enviable!" Bassheda said softly. "She's beautiful and can represent Beauxbatons in the Triwizard Tournament. It's truly enviable."

"Hopefully her performance will be as stunning as her looks," Belvina said. "Otherwise—oops!"

Belvina clicked her tongue and didn't continue.

If she doesn't perform well, Fleur Delacour might be labeled a "pretty face but no substance."

At this moment, the Great Hall fell silent again, as everyone awaited the birth of the "last" champion, the champion of Hogwarts!

When the Goblet of Fire's flickering flames turned red again, all the Hogwarts students stared wide-eyed; when sparks flew from the Goblet of Fire once more, all the Hogwarts students raised their hands.

The third note with a name on it was carried into the air by the flames, and Dumbledore reached out and took the charred note.

The headmaster first carefully checked the name on the note before announcing loudly, "The champion of Hogwarts is Cedric Diggory!"

The auditorium erupted in thunderous applause and cheers. Although there were a few discordant voices, who cared? The vast majority of people were celebrating Cedric becoming a warrior.

The Hufflepuff students, in particular, were overflowing with excitement and joy, and all paid tribute to their warriors with the brightest smiles!

"That's fantastic!" Bassheda jumped up excitedly. "The champion of Hogwarts is Hufflepuff!"

As she spoke, she excitedly pecked Belvina on the cheek.

Belvina pulled out a handkerchief and wiped her face with disgust. The applause and cheers in the Great Hall continued for a long time. Even after Cedric Diggory had disappeared, the students of Hogwarts were still cheering.

This is Hogwarts, and Cedric Diggory is the lead singer; he will naturally receive the warmest and longest cheers.

At this moment, the three warriors of the Triwizard Tournament had been selected. Mrs. Maxim and Karkarov stood up and prepared to go to the temporary lounge next to the auditorium.

Just then, the flame in the rough goblet turned red for the fourth time.

During the foggy time, the auditorium was completely silent, as if someone had choked everyone.

Mrs. Maxim and Karkarov, who had stood up, froze in place, looking in the wrong direction at the Goblet of Fire.

Professor Moody's mutilated face broke into an enigmatic smile, his bright blue demonic eyes swirling wildly, while his normal eye gleamed with a sharp light.

To everyone's disbelief, the fourth charred note was lifted into the air by the flames, then floated down gently, spinning as it flew into Dumbledore's hand.

"Harry Potter," Belvina said softly.

"Harry Potter!" Dumbledore called out.
