Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 298 Pensieve

Chapter 298 Pensieve

Chapter 298 Pensieve

Belvina did take ancient runes seriously during her school years, and her grades were quite good.

Not to mention translating entire ancient runic texts, he is at least proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Moreover, Belvina also has a friend named Bassheda Bablin.

Dear Miss Bablin is not only the Hogwarts Ancient Rune Professor, but also the youngest Ancient Rune scholar.

Under such influence, it would be difficult for Belvina not to improve, and her understanding of ancient runes deepened day by day.

While I can't cast spells using ancient runes like Miss Bablin, deciphering the characters engraved in the Pensieve is a piece of cake.

Therefore, Belvina was able to determine that the shimmering stone basin was the Pensieve, a magical item used to access memories.

"Can anyone tell me what this is for?" Harry asked, looking at the other three professors besides Snape with a puzzled expression.

"You can think of it as a projector, except it's not used to play movies, but to play memories," Belvina explained. "You'll understand once you use it."

After hearing Belvina's explanation, Harry roughly understood what was going on, but he still couldn't figure out how the "memories" could be played.

All four professors present noticed Harry's confusion. Dumbledore and Professor Moody were indifferent, while Snape wore a sour face, showing great disdain for Harry's ignorance.

Belvina, her acacia wand slipping silently from her sleeve, raised it, the tip close to her temple.

After a while, the acacia wand pulled a small wisp of ethereal silvery-white substance from her temple, which looked exactly like the substance in the Pensieve.

Next, Belvina placed the silvery-white substance from the tip of her staff into the Pensieve, as if flicking cigarette ash.

Harry was astonished to see the silvery-white substance swirling in the Pensieve like quicksand, and a burly, menacing-looking man appeared out of thin air.

Then Harry heard the man in the Pensieve speak, saying, "Miss Black, nothing could be more delightful than seeing you back at the Ministry of Magic—"

“It wasn’t him,” Harry said. “He wasn’t the one I dreamt about.”

"Of course not—"

“Axley doesn’t have freckles, Professor Black,” Snape interrupted Belvina. “Besides, Axley’s skin isn’t pale enough.”

"Of course I know Yaxley isn't; he was just demonstrating the Pensieve to Harry," Belvina said. "Is your brain like a fighting cock, only good for bickering?"

"You're wasting everyone's time," Snape said. "This is tantamount to murder."

"Then you do it! You know a lot of people, you do it!" Belvina said indignantly. "I want to see if you'll waste everyone's time."

Professor Moody paused, his bright blue magic eyes fixed on Snape, while his normal eyes were fixed on Belvina.

Dumbledore sighed. He was used to the two bickering and undermining each other. As long as they didn't tear down the school, he would let them be.

Snape snorted, then took out his wand from his robes. Like Belvina, he extracted a portion of his memories and threw it into the Pensieve.

Soon, another man's figure appeared in the Pensieve.

"Murcyber has freckles on his face?" Belvina pointed to the Pensieve. "And he's currently serving time in Azkaban."

"It wasn't him, the person I dreamed about wasn't him," Harry denied again.

"Did you hear that? Harry said it wasn't Mulce. You're wasting everyone's time!" said Belvina, pressing her advantage.

"No, I just want to waste your time," Snape said softly, as he pulled out a small wisp of memory and threw it back into the Pensieve.

The person who appeared in the Pensieve became Nott. After Voldemort lost power, Nott was not imprisoned in Azkaban. He claimed that he was under the influence of the Imperius Curse and had committed many crimes.

By the way, his son Theodore Nott entered school in the same year as Harry and is now studying at Slytherin House.

It has to be said that the Death Eaters are all incredibly audacious; they dare to send their children to Hogwarts without any fear of retaliation.

If it were Durmstrang, Malfoy, Nott, or the others, they would be beaten eight times a day, to the point that their parents wouldn't recognize them.

You should know that every single one of those people from Durmstrang who flaunted the Grindelwald logo had been taught a lesson by people who had lost loved ones because of Grindelwald.

The atmosphere at Hogwarts is too peaceful. Not only can the descendants of Death Eaters appear in the school, but they can also continue to promote the supremacy of pure blood and ridicule Muggle-borns, which is extremely arrogant.

Just as Belvina and Snape were at odds with each other, Alastor Moody became the third to extract his memories.

Unlike the previous two times, this time Professor Moody led Harry into the Pensieve.

Harry felt as if the entire office had collapsed, and he had fallen headfirst into the Pensieve, plummeting into the icy vortex.

After a moment of indescribable weightlessness, Harry suddenly found himself sitting in a dimly lit dungeon, surrounded by many unfamiliar people, with no one paying any attention to him.

Where am I? Is this still Hogwarts?

Harry was startled and nervously looked around, only to find that the person next to him was Alastor Moody.

Just then, Belvina's voice rang out behind Harry, saying, "These are Professor Moody's memories, his own experiences of the past. If I'm not mistaken, this is the Ministry of Magic's inquiries chamber."

"That's right, the Tenth Trial Chamber," Moody said gruffly. "Most trials involving Death Eaters are held here."

Harry was startled when he heard Moody's voice.

At this moment, Harry was flanked by the two Moodys: the familiar, gray-haired Professor Moody on his left and the slightly younger Auror Moody on his right.

Immediately afterwards, Dumbledore and Snape also entered the memory, sitting behind Harry just like Belvina.

At that moment, Harry realized that there was another Dumbledore in the trial room, sitting in the row of seats in front of him and Professor Moody.

It was a strange feeling, with Alastor Moody sitting on either side of me and Albus Dumbledore sitting in front of and behind me.

"Don't bother looking, Harry," Belvina said. "You can't find another me in this courtroom, back when I was still studying at Hogwarts."

As she spoke, Belvina glanced at him sideways and said sarcastically, "You might just see the beloved Professor Snape being carried out by Dementors in a moment."

"Maybe the person being dragged out later will be Sirius Black," Snape said, "or maybe Lestrange."

"Can't you two just leave me alone for a minute?" Professor Moody roared. "Your constant arguing is giving me a headache!"

Belvina and Snape each turned their heads away, ignoring the annoying guy sitting next to them.

After a while, the door at the corner of the dungeon opened, and two Dementors carried a man in, slowly walking towards the chained armchair in the center of the dungeon.

The man looked like he was about to faint, and the Dementor was practically dragging him along. When the Dementor finally put the man in the armchair, he could barely sit up.

"Amicus Carlo," Belvina said softly, "Where is his sister?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the door at the corner of the dungeon opened again, and two more Dementors carried a man out. The man was none other than Alecto Carlo.

Alecto fared even worse than her brother, collapsing limply and falling to the floor from the armchair.

As the Carlo siblings were brought into the courtroom one after the other, the trial officially began, and Barty Crouch's voice immediately rang out in the courtroom.

"Mr. Crouch!" Harry exclaimed in surprise.

"During this period, Mr. Crouch was the Director of the Enforcement Division," Belvina explained. "This was the peak of his life."

As she spoke, Belvina gestured with her lips, and Harry saw Barty Crouch sitting in the front row.

Crouch had black hair, few wrinkles on his face, and looked very energetic and spirited.

"Amicus Caro, Alecto Caro, you are brought before the Magical Law Committee to answer the charges against you for your Death Eater activities," Barty Crouch said sternly.

At that moment, Professor Moody, with his graying hair, patted Harry on the shoulder and asked, "Is it him, Amicus Caro? This fellow escaped the Ministry of Magic's trial and has been at large ever since."

Harry looked closely, then shook his head and said, "It's not him. The person I dreamed about looked more handsome."

Upon hearing this, Snape's lips twitched, and Belvina raised her hand to cover her face.

"I'm telling the truth," Harry quickly explained. "Although the man looked thin and pale, he must have been quite handsome before."

As he spoke, Harry's eyebrows furrowed, as if he had suddenly remembered some detail.

He continued, "Thinking back now, he reminded me a bit of Sirius from last year—it was a very close feeling, I can't quite put my finger on it."

Harry's effusive comments about his looks successfully silenced the four professors. His statement sounded quite unreliable, yet somehow also had a sliver of truth to it.

The four professors frowned and pondered, racking their brains to recall any Death Eaters who fit this feeling.

"If I didn't know that Regulus was already dead, I would have suspected him too," Belvina said to herself.

Who is Regulus? Why does that name sound familiar? Harry wondered blankly.

"How do you know Regulus Blaise is dead? Wasn't he missing?" Snape asked. "What if he's not dead?"

I remember now!

No wonder the name sounded familiar; Harry finally remembered who Regulus was.

"No," Belvina said. "I said he's dead, and he's dead. Even if he were alive, he could never be near Voldemort."

"Your innate confidence is truly enviable, Professor Black," Snape said in a slick, oily tone.

Just as Belvina and Snape were bickering again, Dumbledore suddenly thought of an impossible answer.

"Harry, describe to me again what the person you dreamed about looked like," Dumbledore said.
