Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 346 The Elite Belvina

Chapter 346 The Elite Belvina

Chapter 346 The Elite Belvina

The Black siblings, having left the Vault of Fathom, returned to Grimmauld Place via Apparition.

Without comparison, there is no harm; compared to the others, Grimmauld Place appears even more shabby and dilapidated.

The houses all around looked gloomy, some with broken windows, peeling paint on the doors, and piles of garbage in front of them.

Belvina walked up the stone steps to number twelve, drew her wand, and knocked on the door.

The door opened, and Belvina stepped across the threshold into the foyer, then headed straight for the kitchen in the basement.

"Kreacher, I'm hungry, I want to eat," she called as she walked, quickly passing the row of old-fashioned gas lamps on the wall.

"All you do when you get back is eat. Doesn't Hogwarts provide you with staff meals?" Sirius said disdainfully. "You might as well eat yourself to death."

The brother and sister entered the cave-like kitchen one after the other. The house-elf Kreacher muttered to himself as he placed the heavy iron pot on the stove.

"Welcome home, Miss Belvina, who is forever pure." Kreacher stopped what he was doing and said in a hoarse, bullfrog-like voice.

Belvina was helpless.

Sirius Black struggled to suppress a laugh.

"So Sirius Black is back too. Kreacher didn't see him," Kreacher said hoarsely. "Sirius Black is a jerk."

Kreacher said in a low voice.

What goes around comes around, and this time it's Sirius's turn to be helpless, while Belvina barely suppresses a laugh.

Because of Regulus, Sirius changed his attitude towards Kreacher, treating the elderly house-elf as kindly as possible:

However, Kreacher still mutters a few words from time to time, but they are not as offensive as before, and he no longer swears.

Of course, this is on the premise that Sirius doesn't touch Mrs. Black's portrait.

In the kitchen of number twelve Grimmauld Place, the house-elf Kreacher was busily working, while the Black siblings sat down at the table.

Everyone had a bottle of butterbeer.

"There's something about Bertha Jorkins that I just don't understand," Sirius said.

Belvina, who was slumped in her seat, raised her head.

"You describe Jorkins as a forgetful and muddle-headed person, but in my memory, Jorkins is just not very bright; she's not forgetful at all."

Belvina blinked. How could Bertha Joggins not have a memory? It was a fact universally acknowledged by the Ministry of Magic.

"I admit that Jorkins is a bit confused, but she is by no means forgetful, and her memory for rumors is first-rate. She knows all the gossip circulating in the school."

Belvina sat up straight; this was the first time she had ever heard such a statement.

"She loves digging into other people's secrets, and sometimes she even follows them. Plus, she never knows when to shut up, so you can imagine her situation at school."

Bertha Jorkins was disliked even in her school days, and she remained unpopular even after joining the Ministry of Magic as an adult. Her life was truly terrible.

Belvina thought for a moment and said, "No wonder Joggins was once a member of The Daily Prophet; she looks exactly like Rita."

“No, Skeeter is much smarter than Jorkins.” Sirius shook his head. “Jorkins can’t keep quiet. She’s suffered a lot at school because she can’t read the room.”

Sirius recalled for a moment and continued, "I remember once, Jorkins caught someone kissing behind the greenhouse, and then she spread the word everywhere, even going up to the person in question and talking about it. It eventually reached Dumbledore, because the boy, unable to bear it any longer, cursed Jorkins."

Belvina scratched her head, thinking that Bertha Joggins deserved it, and that the curse had been too lenient.

"Belvina, why has Bertha Jorkins, who had an excellent memory, suddenly become so forgetful after joining the Ministry of Magic?" Sirius asked. "I've been thinking about it a lot lately."

"Maybe she's sick, suffering from amnesia or something," Belvina said. "That's the most reasonable explanation under normal circumstances." Sirius nodded and said, "At first I thought so too, but after learning today that Joggins is involved with Crouch, I feel like something might not be right."

One enjoys digging into other people's secrets, while the other carries a colossal secret—did Bertha Jorkins inadvertently discover the Crouch father and son's secret, just like when she stumbled upon someone kissing behind a greenhouse?

"A forgetting spell?" Belvina said uncertainly, feeling that this was too much of a coincidence!

It just so happens that Barty Crouch has a secret, he happens to be Bertha Jorkins' boss, and Bertha Jorkins happens to discover her boss's secret—isn't that a perfect coincidence?

"Suppose that Jorkins happens to stumble upon Barty Crouch's secret, what choice would the ruthless Barty Crouch make?" Sirius asked.

If it were Belvina, she would definitely kill Bertha Jorkins; only the dead can keep secrets.

However, Bertha Jorkins did not die. It is highly likely that Barty Crouch used a forgetting spell on her, which caused Jorkins to become forgetful.

"You know what, that guess is actually quite reasonable," Belvina said. "It's a bit like shooting the arrow first and then drawing the target."

"Damn Barty Crouch!" Sirius slammed his fist on the table. "Both Barty the Elder and Barty the Younger are bastards, they both deserve to die."

"I agree," Belvina said. "Killing them both wouldn't be enough; the Dementors should each give them a French kiss."

Sirius looked over with displeasure.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Belvina said obediently, "I got carried away and said the wrong thing."

Just then, old Kreacher shuffled over and brought the freshly cooked food to Sirius and Belvina.

Although the portions of food on the brother and sister's plates looked about the same, there was always an extra fried egg or sausage in front of Belvina.

"Kreacher, could you not be so obvious next time?" Sirius said helplessly. "Why don't you go with her to Fertile Ground?"

"Kreacher will not leave the Black family home, so Sirius should give up on that idea."

As he spoke, Kreacher bowed deeply to Sirius, his enormous nose touching the floor.

"Well done, Kreacher!" Belvina gave a thumbs-up, then looked at Sirius, "You didn't say you wanted to eat, so it's good enough that I prepared a meal for you."

Sirius Black skewered a grilled sausage and took a vicious bite.

"What are you planning to do next?" Sirius asked. "We can't just do nothing, can we?"

"Of course not," Belvina said, slicing the sausage. "And we must make a decision quickly and wipe them out before Voldemort gets stronger."

Belvina skewered a slice of sausage and continued, "We're on guard day and night, but there's always a time when we can't keep up. We can't wait any longer. If we wait any longer, Harry will fall into their hands sooner or later."

"So what's your plan?" Sirius asked.

"Absolutely not." Belvina's answer was crisp and decisive.

Sirius's sudden, outspoken words nearly broke his back.

"Actually, it's not entirely true that there's none," Belvina continued. "My current plan is to lead a group straight into Crouch's house and then use the Great Memory Restoration spell on him."

"Um—if I may ask, which of us actually graduated from Gryffindor?"

"Of course it's you! You're the only one in the Black family who doesn't fit in. Even Andromeda, who married Tonks, is a Slytherin graduate."

Sirius put down his half-eaten sausage and said, "Forced entry is probably not an option. We can't be sure if Bertha Jorkins has been staying at Crouch's house all along, let alone where Voldemort is."

If Barty Crouch were alone at home, a hasty arrest could easily alert him.

By then, there won't be a single clue left to find Voldemort hiding in the shadows.

"We need to figure out a way to lure Crouch and Jorkins out, and ideally Voldemort as well, so we can wipe them out in one fell swoop!" Sirius said.

"What you said is as good as nothing at all. Can you please stop diminishing your brother's great image in your sister's eyes?" Belvina showed an extremely disgusted expression.

"Since you dislike me so much, why don't you come up with something?"

"I already said, force our way in! As long as we're quick enough, we can take them all down!" Sirius said, "Shut up!" "You Gryffindor in Slytherin's skin."

In the cave-like, dimly lit kitchen, the house-elf Kreacher sighed silently, then pretended nothing had happened and continued washing the pots and pans.

Belvina and Sirius, the brother and sister who disliked each other, quickly stopped arguing and ignored each other as if in a huff.

If all else fails, then they'll have to ask Dumbledore for help. Hopefully, he can come up with a perfect plan to wipe out Voldemort and his gang in one fell swoop. The siblings, who disliked and ignored each other, almost simultaneously thought of the great Albus Dumbledore.
