Chapter 348 Someone's using cheats here

At this point, Dumbledore suddenly changed the subject, no longer fixated on Bertha Jorkins.

He said, "We've always wanted to find out the truth behind Barty Crouch's resurrection, and we've wasted a lot of time on it."

Belvina sat up straight instantly, understanding Dumbledore's unspoken message.

"Today, we've become interested in Bertha again," Dumbledore continued, "wanting to find out why she disappeared and why she suddenly reappeared."

Sirius scratched his head, the confusion on his face lessening slightly, as he realized the problem.

Dumbledore continued, "Neither Barty the Younger's inexplicable resurrection nor Bertha's disappearance and reappearance are actually that important."

The sky outside the window had darkened at some point, and even the sunlight had become weak.

Belvina stood up and slowly walked to the window.

She reached out, her slender, fair fingers touching the windowpane, unconsciously scribbling and drawing.

"We've got the priorities wrong," she said softly. "Voldemort and his conspiracy are the most important things: where he's hiding, and why he wants to take Harry away."

"But how are we supposed to investigate?" Sirius looked troubled. "Crouch is either at the Ministry of Magic or at home, and Jorkins has only shown up once. Where are we supposed to find Voldemort?"

Dumbledore put down his empty glass and said, "Let's make a bold guess: if you were Voldemort, what would you need most right now, what would you most want to do?"

"Of course, we'd get revenge on Harry!" Sirius Black said without hesitation. "That night in Godric's Hollow, Voldemort tried to kill Harry. If I were him, my first thought would be revenge!"

At this point, Sirius suddenly stopped all movement and became completely still, as if the power had been cut off.

"If he wants revenge on Harry and wants to continue his previous career, he must first take back what he lost," Belvina said in a deep voice as she turned around.

"He wants to be resurrected!" Sirius exclaimed excitedly. "No, that's not right, what he needs is a body that belongs to him!"

"That's what I think too," said Dumbledore, looking at Belvina, and continued, "Remember Quirrell and the Philosopher's Stone?"

In the 1991-1992 school year, Voldemort possessed Quirinus Quirrell, intending to steal the Philosopher's Stone kept at Hogwarts and use its power to be reborn.

"Of course I remember! I haven't settled that score with Voldemort yet!" Belvina clenched her fists and said through gritted teeth, "But there's one thing I don't understand: even if Voldemort wants to regain his body, what does that have to do with Harry?"

"That's what I've always wanted to find out," Dumbledore said calmly. "Voldemort possesses powers I will never have."

"That's because you disdain learning and using evil dark magic," Sirius said seriously. "Only someone like Voldemort would be obsessed with dark magic."

If Belvina's bottom line is unfathomable, then Voldemort has absolutely no bottom line.

Even when Harry was still at the height of his power, Voldemort came to kill his entire family. Where is the bottom line for such a person?

"Luckily I had some wine earlier, otherwise I wouldn't know how to explain my blushing face," Dumbledore said, pointing to the empty wine glass on the table.

Seeing this, Belvina immediately stepped forward, picked up the wine jug, refilled the empty wine glass, and presented it to Dumbledore.

"Why did Voldemort want to take Harry away?" Sirius Black asked, rubbing his chin. "It couldn't be just to make it easier to kill Harry, to eliminate his greatest rival the moment he was reborn."

Belvina shook her head; she felt the truth was not so simple and straightforward.

Furthermore, death is not the most terrifying thing; there are many things in the world that are far worse than death.

To be honest, is killing Harry such an essential part of the process? Why not just lock him up or cripple him?

"Voldemort couldn't harm Harry, and I think he himself should have realized that." Dumbledore shook his head. "We don't know exactly what happened that night in Godric's Hollow, but the only thing we're certain of is that Lily protected Harry from harm."

Sirius looked worried, as if he was thinking of that gentle, kind, lively, and cheerful girl.

Belvina listened intently, this was something she had always wanted to know: why Harry had survived.

"Lily protected Harry with her life, and her love and sacrifice left Harry with a talisman that prevented Voldemort from harming him," Dumbledore said. "It is a very ancient kind of magic."

In a few words, Dumbledore explained the reason why Harry had survived—the power of love.

The truth is often the easiest thing to break a person's defenses. It's unclear whether Voldemort was broken, but Belvina certainly was.

The power of love, the power of friendship, the power of joy, the indomitable will—how familiar these phrases are! Aren't these the classic cheat codes for a purely righteous character?

Although magic is inherently subjective, Belvina still couldn't accept the "power of love" and even wanted to report to Merlin that someone was cheating. "To continue the magic Lily left for Harry, I sent Harry to Privet Drive and entrusted him to the Dursleys," Dumbledore continued. "Petty Dursley is Lily's only remaining relative."

Sirius nodded thoughtfully and said, "No wonder you wouldn't let me bring Harry to live with you and insisted on sending him back to Privet Drive. It turns out it's because he has to go back to his aunt."

"That's right." Dumbledore nodded. "As long as Petunia accepts Harry and takes him in, Lily's protection will continue to flow in Harry's veins until the day he turns seventeen."

It turns out that it's not just the power of love; the "Law on the Protection of Minors" also plays a role here.

Belvina was speechless again, and couldn't help but put her hand to her forehead. She felt that Voldemort was overestimating himself.

With the power of love in his left hand and the "Law on the Protection of Minors" in his right, even Merlin would have to kneel down and sing "Conquer," let alone the most dangerous dark wizard in history.

"If that's the case, why does Voldemort still want to take Harry away? Has he already found a way to break the 'power of love'?" Belvina said, always preparing for the worst.

"I don't know, but I think he should have found it by now," Dumbledore said in a deep voice, a rare seriousness on his face.

Clearly, Dumbledore had also prepared for the worst, and everything he was doing now was to avoid that worst outcome.

Magic has been passed down for thousands of years, and its scriptures are as vast as the ocean; no one can say for sure how many kinds of magic exist in this world.

No one knows how Voldemort will be reborn, or how he will break the power of love; only he himself knows the answer.

At this moment, Belvina got up again and began pacing back and forth in the long drawing room, sometimes with her hands behind her back, sometimes rubbing her smooth chin.

"Can you please sit still for a bit and stop walking around like this? You're making my eyes dizzy!" Sirius complained. "Do you think walking around here will lead you to a plan to find Voldemort?"

In the past, Belvina would have made Sirius pay the price and taught him the consequences of his foul mouth.

But today, Belvina ignored Sirius completely, not even giving him a disdainful look.

As she walked, she muttered to herself, "Voldemort needs Harry, so Harry became the fourth champion—champions have to participate in the Triwizard Tournament, so they'll use the Triwizard Tournament..."

Belvina didn't roll her eyes, but Sirius rolled his eyes so wide that his pupils disappeared.

"Isn't that obvious? We already knew that—"

Sirius Black hadn't finished speaking when Dumbledore interrupted him, waving his hand to signal him to calm down.

"Since they're going to use the Triwizard Tournament to try and take Harry away from Hogwarts—" Belvina suddenly stopped, "then why don't we just mess up the Triwizard Tournament!"

Sirius paused for a moment, then realized the key point and understood.

"I thought you had already thought of that," Dumbledore said.

"Professor, are you talking about Karkaroff?" Belvina immediately thought of the annoying Principal Durmstrang.

She immediately looked out the window, her pretty face flushed red by the setting sun. When she was beating up Karkarov, she never thought of ruining the Triwizard Tournament.
