Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 363 Crouch's Choice

Chapter 363 Crouch's Choice

Chapter 363 Crouch's Choice

I've already planned my next step. What about you?

Barty Crouch chuckled. His plans had already been disrupted, so there was no plan left to speak of.

He originally wanted to impersonate Alastor Moody to sneak into Hogwarts, but Moody proved to be old but still vigorous, and the sneak attack plan failed.

To avoid attracting more attention and to prevent being discovered by the Ministry of Magic, Barty, having failed in his first attempt, had no choice but to retreat in disappointment, abandoning his plan to impersonate Moody and infiltrate the school.

Although Barty Jr. hated his father, in order to sneak into Hogwarts, he had to impersonate his father and stay at the Ministry of Magic as a referee in the Triwizard Tournament to get close to Harry Potter.

Barty thought no one would suspect the Director of the International Department of Magical Cooperation. Who would suspect the person who imprisoned his own son in Azkaban?

Under the cover of his identity as Barty Crouch, the plan will proceed smoothly; he can quietly take Harry away and hand him over to his master.

However, Belvina Black suddenly appeared, not only beginning to suspect the former war hero, but even sending people to investigate him secretly.

As a result, Barty Jr. had to be more careful in his actions, and he even impersonated Igor Karkarov once.

Fortunately, this time there were no unexpected events, and Harry Potter became the Triwizard Tournament champion as he wished, allowing the plan to proceed smoothly.

With something to look forward to, Barty the Youngster went through the motions at the Ministry of Magic while eagerly awaiting the Triwizard Tournament.

After much waiting and anticipation, the second event of the Triwizard Tournament has finally arrived.

In the second project, Harry will dive into the Black Lake and disappear from everyone's sight, which is the perfect opportunity to take him away.

It's Belvina Black again! She's borrowed some new gadgets from the Department of Mysteries and increased Harry's protection, forcing Barty Jr. to change his plans and abandon the operation.

With the second project unreliable, Barty Jr. could only pin all his hopes on the third, and final, project.

As a result, his plan failed to even start before the third project began.

It was that persistent bastard, Belvina Black, who even went so far as to kidnap Karkaroff to stop the Triwizard Tournament from continuing.

Barty wanted to ask her directly why Belvina, a pure-blood wizard from the Goriot Black family, had repeatedly clashed with Voldemort.

But now, Little Barty suddenly doesn't want to know why.

In the pitch-black room of the West Tower, Little Barty once again took out the silver flask containing the compound decoction.

This time, instead of drinking the compound decoction as before, he turned the flask upside down, and a viscous liquid spilled out.

Then, Little Barty casually tossed the empty flask away; the silver flask struck the bare wall with a soft thud.

Little Barty snorted in disgust.

Unwilling to continue the pretense, Barty Crouch went to the window. The night was deep, and the glass was filthy, unable to reflect Barty Crouch's contemptuous face.

Despite having long suspected something, he didn't confront Cornelius Fudge; despite having already broken off relations, he preserved a shred of dignity by not conducting a body search; despite being imprisoned in the West Tower, the guards were remarkably lax—

Barty Crouch Jr.'s disdain and contempt grew stronger. Did Dumbledore and Belvina think he was stupid, or did they think he was as cowardly as those cowards?

Barty knew exactly what Dumbledore and Belvina were up to; he had always known about their schemes.

You just want to follow the clues, you just want to find Voldemort, right? Well, we're not going to let you have your way!

With that thought in mind, Barty Crouch sat back down in the chair in the center of the room.

Time ticked by, and a faint silvery-gray hue appeared on the distant horizon, indicating that dawn was gradually approaching.

The transformation effect of the compound decoction had dissipated, revealing Barty Crouch Jr.'s true appearance: pale skin, a few freckles, and light yellow hair.

The last impression people have of Barty Jr. is still that of him when he was seventeen or eighteen years old. Now, wrinkles have crept around his eyes, and he looks much older.

Little Barty looked out the window; the silvery-gray sky was gradually turning into a pale white, and soon it would become a brilliant golden color.

"It's so beautiful!" he sighed softly. "But it should have been even more beautiful."

As he spoke, Little Barty slowly stood up and lifted the only piece of furniture in the room—the chair—high above his head.

Click!

The crisp sound of shattering glass broke the silence, arriving before dawn.

Barty Crouch slammed the chair against the filthy window, shattering the glass instantly and letting a blast of cold air fill the small room. "Barty Crouch has escaped!" Barty shouted. "Barty Crouch has smashed the glass and escaped!" He leaped onto the windowsill.

Soon, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor.

Professor Flitwick arrived, dressed in his dressing gown, wand in hand, and pushed open the door.

"Crouch!" Professor Flitwick stood frozen in the doorway. "Barty Crouch Jr., it really is you!"

"Good morning, Professor," Barty Crouch Jr. chuckled. "I hope you enjoy this special wake-up call."

He squatted on the windowsill, his back to the light outside, laughing freely and brightly, just like the handsome and outstanding young man he was more than a decade ago.

Immediately afterwards, Barty Crouch Jr. climbed out through the hole in the window and jumped from the West Tower.

His body plummeted rapidly under the influence of gravity, the air from all directions assaulting his senses and bringing unbearable, tearing pain.

His breathing became increasingly difficult, his heart pounded harder and harder, and his fear of death was magnified infinitely in an instant.

Just as Barty Crouch Jr. was about to be smashed into a pulp, his falling speed suddenly slowed down, and he landed steadily on the ground.

Barty Crouch Jr., who was forcibly detained at Hogwarts, had been "dead" for over ten years.

Is he trying to escape?

the answer is negative.

If Barty wanted to escape, he didn't need to smash the glass, much less yell.

If Barty wanted to escape, he should have left the West Tower quietly, and he should have done so as not to alert anyone.

Barty Crouch Jr. landed smoothly, took out his wand, pointed the tip at his throat, and cast an amplification spell on himself.

A silver light immediately shone on his wrist; it was a restriction placed on him by Dumbledore, which allowed him to know immediately when Dumbledore used magic.

Hey! Good morning, Hogwarts!

Barty Crouch Jr.'s voice was like thunder.

"Good morning, everyone!" Little Barty shouted, "Good morning, you damn bastards!"

His voice echoed through Hogwarts, resounding to every corner of the school and startling flocks of birds in the Forbidden Forest.

It startled everyone in the castle.

"I am Barty Crouch!" Barty Jr. continued to shout. "Of course, you're more used to calling me Barty Crouch Jr.!"

By this time, Professor Flitwick had caught up. He didn't know what Barty was trying to do, but he knew he had to stop him.

Professor Flitwick raised his wand and fired a spell at his former student.

But Barty Jr. didn't seem to have any intention of being enemies with Professor Flitwick. He didn't defend himself or fight back; he just kept dodging.

"Looks like not many people remember me!" Little Barty was still shouting. "I've been dead for over a decade, it's normal that you don't know me!"

A series of thunderous shouts rang out, waking even the most sound sleepers.

Hufflepuff and the Slytherin students sat on their beds, annoyed at being woken up, eager to know what was happening outside.

The Gryffindor and Ravenclaw students, filled with resentment, came to the window and looked out of the tower window at the man shouting and calling himself Barty Crouch Jr.

Barty's disruptive behavior of shouting on the field alarmed not only the students but also the professors at the school.

Before long, the professors rushed out of the castle, with Belvina leading the way, running quickly toward Barty Crouch Jr.

As the group of professors gradually surrounded him, and as Belvina sprinted away, Barty Crouch Jr. showed no panic whatsoever.

The smile on her face only grew brighter.

At this moment, Barty Crouch Jr. was neither anyone's son nor anyone's follower; he was simply himself, simply Barty Crouch.
