Chapter 418 Bad News for Snape
A year later, Harry finally returned to Grimmauld Place.
He stood on a messy, desolate patch of grass, looking at a row of gloomy house facades in front of him.
The rumble of the stereo system and the pungent stench of rotting garbage made Grimoire Square look even more dilapidated than it had a year ago.
Harry's gaze swept over the dirty walls of the house, over the dilapidated doors and windows, but he didn't see the familiar dark wooden door.
"Belvina, I can't see her—"
Harry opened his mouth, intending to say "12 Grimmauld Place," but he just couldn't get the address out.
The words were on the tip of his tongue, but he involuntarily swallowed them back, as if "12 Grimmauld Place" was a taboo address that could not be mentioned.
"Ah, just a moment." Belvina seemed to suddenly remember something. "I almost forgot."
As she spoke, she rummaged through her pockets.
A few seconds later, Belvina slipped a piece of parchment into Harry's hand and said, "Don't ask anything, just say it to yourself."
Harry held up the parchment in his hand and, in the dim light cast by the streetlamp, silently read the long, thin words on it.
The sign above reads: The headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix is located at 12 Grimmauld Place, London.
In an instant, the familiar Black family home suddenly appeared, pushing Number 11 and Number 13 aside.
Harry looked at Belvina in confusion; why hadn't he seen Grimmauld Place 12 as he usually did?
It was as if he had just lost his magic and become a Muggle.
"The 'Spell of Unwavering Loyalty' is too complicated to explain to you in a short time. Let's go inside first."
After saying that, Belvina led Harry into what used to be Black's old house, now the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix.
As soon as the two entered, they saw Mrs. Weasley walking towards them in quick succession, her much thinner face beaming with enthusiasm.
"Oh, Harry, it's so good to see you!" Mrs. Weasley pulled Harry into a tight hug, so tight that she almost broke his ribs.
She then said to Belvina, "I saw Harry's luggage in the room upstairs, and Kingsley just told me that you're coming back with Harry tonight."
"Harry's all yours now, Molly. I'm going downstairs first," Belvina said as she stepped into the corridor.
Seeing Belvina walk forward, Harry instinctively followed, but before he could even descend the stairs leading to the underground kitchen, he was swiftly stopped by Mrs. Weasley.
"No, Harry, only members of the Order of the Phoenix are allowed to attend the meeting. You can't go," Mrs. Weasley said in a low voice, not wanting to wake Mrs. Black behind the curtain.
Despite having many questions in his mind, Harry obediently stopped.
The attack at the Magnolia Road amusement park weighed heavily on the heart of the fifteen-year-old boy, like a large stone.
"Your room has been reserved for you. You can go play with Ron and Hermione for a while. The meeting will be over soon." Mrs. Weasley led Harry upstairs.
On the other side, Belvina entered the smoke-filled underground kitchen.
Belvina couldn't understand why these people insisted on crowding into the dimly lit kitchen when there was a more comfortable living room in the old house for meetings.
"The Evening Prophet published Amelia's brief statement urgently," Kingsley said. "The Daily Prophet and the Moon should publish it again tomorrow, and I believe more people will know about tonight's attack and that the Death Eaters are at work."
Belvina walked over to Sirius, who was waving at her, and then sat down next to him.
"I think this is a good thing for us," Kingsley continued. "More and more people will believe in Dumbledore, and those who have always refused to open their eyes will become vigilant."
The Death Eaters, who had been out of the public eye for over a decade, have resumed their activities, causing one death and one injury at the Ministry of Magic. This incident has served as a wake-up call for everyone in the wizarding community.
"May Lambert rest in peace," Kingsley raised his glass.
"May he rest in peace!" The members of the Order of the Phoenix, sitting around the long table, raised their glasses together.
Lambert, the Ministry of Magic's striker, was the first person killed after the war restarted, and his death ushered in the second half of the war.
Only two people in the entire kitchen did not raise their glasses: Mundungus Fletcher, who was dozing off, and Severus Snape, who seemed lost in thought.
Snape, his face ashen, sat there absentmindedly, looking out of place among the Order of the Phoenix members around him, as if his presence in Grimmauld Place was a huge accident.
After a brief moment of silence, the meeting continued.
The situation on the fairy side is still not optimistic; they have no intention of joining forces with the Ministry of Magic.
"Lagno demanded that we and the Ministry of Magic hand Ludo Bagman over to him and compensate them for their previous financial losses."
Bill, the eldest son of the Weasleys, shook his head as he continued, "Only in this way will Lagno consider joining forces with us to fight against the Mystic."
"Our long-finger friends are as greedy as ever," Sirius said sarcastically. "But at least they haven't asked for the right to use the wand, which is good news."
Aside from the fairies, the situation was even worse for the werewolves. Werewolves were ostracized by wizarding society, making them Voldemort's natural allies.
"Several werewolf groups have already answered Fenrir Greyback's call, and Greyback's imagined werewolf army is about to take shape."
Looking haggard, Lupin continued worriedly, "Now, Graybury has the power to create chaos, and many families can be plunged into misery and unhappiness whenever he wants."
"I need to know where he's hiding, Remus," Belvina said. "The Ministry of Magic can step in and wipe out the werewolves."
"I'll find out where he is," Lupin said. "I'm sure I can find him."
Remus Lupin cared deeply about Fenrir Graybock and did not want the tragedy that had befallen him to repeat itself.
"How's it going with you and Charlie, I mean, on your end?" Moody asked Belvina gruffly. "Any foreign wizards willing to join us?"
Dumbledore hoped to recruit some foreign wizards into the Order of the Phoenix to strengthen its power and increase the chances of defeating Voldemort.
Therefore, the task fell to Belvina and Charlie, who was studying fire dragons in Romania.
"Charlie has a few Eastern European wizards who want to join him," Belvina said. "My situation isn't so good. We have a lot of supporters, but not many are willing to help."
Few people would be willing to travel thousands of miles to the British Isles to fight Voldemort and Death Eaters for a group of strangers.
Many foreign wizards wonder what the wizarding wars in Britain have to do with them.
"I believe that this situation will be reversed once Amelia successfully takes over the Ministry of Magic," Belvina continued. "At that time, I can replace the British representative of the International Confederation of Wizards and then seek more allies."
"Is our sweet little gummy bear ready to resign?" Sirius asked. "He won't change his mind, will he?"
"Cornell has no chance to back out," Belvina replied. "Cornell is right here with Professor Dumbledore, and his only option is to resign."
With Dumbledore by his side, the Death Eaters could no longer get close to Cornelius Fudge, and the pure-blood supremacists could no longer influence Fudge.
At that moment, Snape, who had been silent all along, suddenly looked up at Belvina.
After a string of bad news, the meeting of the Order of the Phoenix finally received some good news.
If Amelia Burns were to take over the Ministry of Magic, the current state of passive resistance would change, and she would be able to monitor or arrest Malfoy and others.
"Gentlemen."
Snape’s annoying voice suddenly came out.
He continued, "I have something very important to tell you all. Before tonight's meeting began, the Dark Lord summoned the Death Eaters."
In an instant, the cave-like kitchen fell silent, and even the smoke that filled the air seemed to freeze.
Voldemort gathering the Death Eaters was bound to happen sooner or later, but when it actually happened, everyone's hearts started pounding wildly.
This means Voldemort may no longer be content to remain in the shadows, and that his next plans may require the assistance of Death Eaters. A true bloodbath may be about to unfold.
