Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 84 The Abnormal Dementors

Chapter 84 The Abnormal Dementors

Chapter 84 The Abnormal Dementors

The silvery-white cormorant soared into the sky, while the speeding boat rippled through the blue waves.

Felix Ferguson took out a torch, tied it to the bow of the ship, and used magic to conjure a handful of bright, warm blue flames, dispelling the chill that enveloped the surroundings.

Young Felix was tall and thin, with long arms and legs. He wasn't exactly handsome, but his eyes shone with vitality.

He's a likable young man.

When Belvina was still in the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters, she had worked with the Law Enforcement Team many times, and that's when the young man met Belvina.

There was no love at first sight, nor any lustful desire; it was simply that Belvina had left a deep impression on Felix, who had just joined the Ministry of Magic.

Several years have passed. Belvina temporarily left the Ministry of Magic and joined Hogwarts, while Felix remained in the Law Enforcement Team, and was not even the captain of the team.

It must be said that the Ministry of Magic's promotion system has significant problems.

Even a sycophant like Dolores Umbridge can be promoted to manager in a flash.

Felix Ferguson, who can summon a physical guardian deity, is relegated to the Law Enforcement Team and is not even an Auror.

As the small boat got closer to the center of the North Sea, the temperature dropped and the fog thickened, causing white mist to rise as the people on board exhaled.

Felix took a thick cloak out of his crossbody bag. It was a warm garment he had originally prepared for himself, but the young man did not put it on immediately.

Young Mr. Ferguson hesitated. He felt that Belvina might need warm clothes more than he did, but he was too afraid to ask, fearing that his actions would be too presumptuous.

Holding the thick cloak in his hand, he was caught in a dilemma: whether to put it on or not. He could only stand there awkwardly, caught between a rock and a hard place.

The boat was small, and Felix's embarrassment did not escape Belvina's notice.

If she wanted to win Felix's favor and use that favor to manipulate the young man, she could simply put on a delicate act and accept the cloak, either willingly or unwillingly.

But Belvina disdained to do that; she chose the most unromantic approach.

The acacia wood wand pointed at the blue flame, which instantly became brighter and warmer, temporarily resolving the temperature issue.

"Felix, get ready." Belvina stood up. "I think we're almost there."

The lonely island did not appear in sight. Belvina made this judgment based on her many trips to Azkaban, and there were already small ice floes around the small boat. They had obviously entered the territory of the Dementors.

Felix responded loudly, then put on his cloak, took out his wand, and prepared.

The two balding wizards behind him also drew their wands to stand guard, while no one cared whether the prisoner about to enter Azkaban lived or died.

Built in the 15th century, Azkaban Castle was not originally intended as a prison, but rather as the private property of the evil sorcerer Extis.

This sorcerer, considered mentally unstable, had a particular fondness for luring sailors passing through this area.

They were lured to Azkaban, where they were tortured and harmed one by one.

Extis took pleasure in this, and it wasn't until after his death that the hellish island and castle became known to the world.

The first people to land on the island were reluctant to mention the horrific sights they witnessed, and the Dementors became the least noteworthy horror of Azkaban.

Gradually, the fog around the small boat thickened and the temperature dropped, and the bright blue flames could no longer dispel the intense, unyielding chill.

However, this was merely a facade; negative thoughts began to creep into the minds of those on board, and painful memories kept resurfacing.

With a painful scream, the sorcerer who sold dark magic items collapsed to the ground, his face contorted in pain as he clutched his cheeks with both hands.

The two balding wizards guarding the prisoners paid no attention to the matter. They gripped their wands tightly, trying to recall happy memories in order to combat the effects of the Dementors.

Felix, standing at the bow, waved his wand again, and the silver-white osprey, with its wings spread high, returned to the side of the ship, circling and dancing around the small boat.

With their guardian spirits by their side, the expressions on everyone's faces improved, except for the extremely distressed prisoner. He needed to adjust to the Dementors, as he would be living with them for a long time to come.

Belvina took three chocolates out of her pocket and handed them to Felix and the other two wizards. Sweet treats full of calories always bring a good mood.

"Thank you, Miss Black." Felix bowed his head in thanks, swallowed the chocolate in a few bites, and then gave a simple, honest smile.

"You've made great progress, Felix," Belvina praised sincerely. "I have a friend who's very skilled with Patronus Charms. You should meet him and chat with him if you have the chance."

The Guardian Charm is a very profound and ancient magic, extremely difficult to master.

This spell has long been associated with wizards who fight for noble causes, and wizards who can summon physical guardian deities are sometimes elected as members of the Wizengamot.

"Thanks to Kingsley." Felix seemed not to understand. "Kingsley Shackle has been a great help to me. I've been on several missions with him."

Kingsley Shackles, a man who, like Dumbledore, can easily inspire trust.

"Kingsley is one of the finest wizards I've ever seen," Belvina said. "I think he could become an Auror even better than Alastor."

If any other young witch had said these words, it would have sounded old-fashioned, or even presumptuous. But the fact that Belvina said them speaks volumes about her approval of Kingsley.

The surrounding air grew colder, the outline of the island became faintly visible, and the towering Azkaban fortress exuded an invisible pressure.

No one knows exactly how many people Extis killed, but the number must have been terrifying, as evidenced by the countless Dementors on the island.

"Something doesn't seem right," Felix suddenly said. "Why have the Dementors left the island?"

Belvina shaded her eyes with her hand and saw the Dementors gathering in the distance, then surging in like a dark tide, seemingly regarding the people on the ship as intruders and delicious food.

"What's going on?" Felix asked, somewhat flustered. "Supply deliveries are scheduled, and the Dementors know that perfectly well!"

There are always people who want to harm me.

This was the first thing Belvina thought of; the Dementors' unusual behavior triggered her paranoia.

But upon closer reflection, her only political enemy in the Ministry of Magic was Barty Crouch, and at most, the Pink Toad; neither of them had the authority to command Dementors.

As for Connelly Fudge, Belvina didn't think the minister had any motive to do so; in other words, Fudge didn't have the guts right now.

As the Dementors drew closer, a chilling cold permeated the air, and the thick fog blurred the vision. Sharp screams echoed from the ship again, and the prisoners who dealt in dark magic items huddled together, their hands covering their heads.

The two wizards escorting the prisoner raised their wands and laboriously cast the Patronus Charm. A wisp of silver thread floated out of their wands, hovering like mist in front of them, and then vanished—vanished!

Felix did not rashly command the silvery-white osprey to go forward and fight. His body trembled slightly with fear, but the brave young man did not back down and stood firmly at the bow of the ship.

Belvina wielded her wand with effortless ease, the acacia wood wand drawing a near-perfect arc above her head.

The silver-white cat that dared to tear apart Voldemort's remnant soul appeared out of thin air.

The cat-shaped guardian spirit shone with dazzling light, swiftly passing by Felix, rushing across the cold surface of the North Sea, and pouncing on the dark mass of Dementors.

The silver-white guardian spirit bared its sharp fangs and claws, tearing and lunging, causing the fearsome Dementors to retreat and scatter.

Several Dementors tried to bypass the Patronus's defenses, but how could they possibly evade the agile cat?

Soon, the assembled Dementors were scattered, fleeing in all directions, not daring to approach the small boat again.

Felix looked at Belvina in the dim light, his Adam's apple bobbing, but he couldn't utter a single word.
