"ha?"

Upon hearing this, Riley raised his eyebrows high, giving him a look that said, "What nonsense are you spouting, kid?"

"Unhappy? Why would you be unhappy? It's more fun with more people, right? Besides, we're not short of money, we can easily manage these expenses~"

Peter looked at his brother, who was clearly cunning and scheming... oops... perfectly calculating, but utterly oblivious when it came to personal feelings. Just like Sheriff Black, he looked completely clueless, and Peter couldn't help but chuckle.

He quickly pursed his lips, shook his head, and his face became even more mysterious, as if saying, "I know, but I won't say."

After all, when Peter first started dating Gwen, Riley was quite the entertainer and "left Peter to die" without helping him.

Therefore, Peter, following the fine tradition of "reciprocity" taught by his elder brother, was naturally looking forward to seeing how his foolish brother, who was unaware of being the prey, would gradually sell himself into the battlefield.

Hmm, just thinking about that scene is intriguing and makes me really look forward to it!

Thinking of this, Peter couldn't help but pat Riley on the shoulder, pretending to be an experienced person, his tone mature to the point of being a bit irritating: "Pfft... cough cough... never mind, bro, you... oh well, never mind, it's nothing."

This series of hesitant and ambiguous actions felt like a feather tickling Riley's heart.

Riley, who despised the "Riddler's" behavior, found Peter's character the most unbearable.

"What the heck?"

Riley grabbed Peter's wrist as he tried to pull it back, not with much force, but enough to prevent him from breaking free.

He then moved closer, staring into Peter's eyes that held a hint of a smile, and threatened him with a feigned menacing expression.

"No, what are you trying to say? Just say it directly! What's with all this beating around the bush? Tell me honestly, are you planning some kind of prank, just waiting for me to embarrass myself?"

Unfortunately for him, Peter, who was prepared, simply twisted his wrist and slipped out of Riley's grasp. He then took a half-step back, creating a safe distance.

Then he grinned at Riley.

That smile was both sunny and sly, carrying a distinctly younger brotherly provocation.

"I won't tell, hehe~"

As he spoke, he slowly moved backward, deliberately drawing out his voice.

"My foolish brother, you're still too young... You'll understand when the time comes~"

"Hey! You little brat...!"

Riley was thoroughly amused by his attitude, which also stirred up that almost childish competitive spirit in him when his brother's "authority" was challenged.

"I think you're asking for a beating again! It's been a few days since I dealt with you, and now you dare to keep it a secret from your brother?"

As he spoke, Riley rolled up his sleeves, making a move as if to pounce on him.

But Peter had been waiting for this moment. Almost as soon as Riley made a move, Peter turned around and darted into the crowd that was pouring out of the classroom not far away, like a startled rabbit.

The silky smoothness of his movements as he moved through the crowd without a single leaf sticking to his body was truly astonishing.

The passersby, far from finding it unbelievable, seemed to be used to it, making way for Peter while showing the happy smiles of onlookers.

"If you can catch me, I'll tell you!"

The next second, Peter's voice came from behind several students who were discussing Spider-Man news, accompanied by a clear whistle.

"Hey, I have a short temper... You stop right there!"

Riley laughed and cursed, then pushed through the crowd and chased after them.

The corridor instantly became their temporary racetrack.

Peter darted through the crowd like a slippery fish. Sometimes he would bend down to dodge backpacks from other people's shoulders, sometimes he would sidestep around corners, and he would always turn back to wink at Riley.

Of course, to conceal their identities, neither brother used Spider-Man's powers; they simply relied on the physical abilities of ordinary men to stage a chase scene.

Riley's significantly larger build compared to Peter made it naturally more difficult for him to navigate through the crowd.

This meant that Riley couldn't catch up with Peter for the time being, giving Peter the right to continue showing off.

"Hurry up, bro! You're not going to give up, are you?"

Peter stopped at a stairwell, rested his hands on his knees, and pretended to be out of breath, but his eyes were clear and he didn't look tired at all.

"You brat, how dare you say your brother isn't good enough... Just you wait, when I catch you, I'll give you a good beating!"

Riley stopped too, pointed at him, his face tense, but his eyes were full of laughter.

Familiar classmates nearby looked over, whistling and teasing, "Hey, Peter, getting into physical training? What did you do to offend your brother this time?"

"No, he's just too stupid!"

Peter loudly "complained," which immediately provoked Riley to pounce on him in a fit of "anger." But Peter laughed and jumped away, leaping down the stairs in three quick steps and continuing his desperate escape.

This sudden chase ended with Riley finally hooking Peter's neck at the corner of the stairs between the second and first floors—Peter only struggled a couple of times, half-heartedly, before raising his hands in surrender.

"Well done, kid. You ran pretty fast. Aren't you afraid of your identity being exposed?"

Riley used a little force to ruffle Peter's hair into a tangled mess.

"Gently, gently! Don't mess up my hair! I'm looking forward to going to the movies with Gwen after school!"

Peter, protecting his head, crawled out from under Riley's arm and tidied his bird's nest-like hair.

"Seriously, bro, why don't you take Xiaoyu and Felicia out for some fun this weekend?"

He quickly tidied himself up, looked at Riley, and the mischievousness in his eyes faded, replaced by a warmer smile.

"They need you more than we do. Besides, you'll definitely miss these leisurely times in the near future, believe me."

Riley looked at him, still not quite understanding why something as ordinary as finding someone to go to the amusement park with had suddenly become so important in Peter's eyes.

But the certainty in Peter's eyes and the unspoken understanding between brothers made him swallow his question.

He raised his hand and this time gently punched Peter's shoulder.

"Such a mystery... Never mind, I won't ask you anymore. Is there anything you want? If I happen to pass by and see something, I'll bring it back for you."

"You know what, there really is! Remember to bring me a souvenir! It's the prize from that supposedly hard-to-hit shooting game! I want the new Spider-Man version of the Super Moose plushie! Both colors!"

"Wow, pretty high standards!" Riley laughed, reaching out to ruffle Peter's hair into a mess once more amidst Peter's disgruntled grumbling, before finally stopping, satisfied. "Alright, watch your brother show you what he's got."

"Keep bragging! Don't come back empty-handed!"

"Hmph, I can't speak for everything else, but when it comes to shooting, your brother is definitely a professional!"

They bantered back and forth as they walked side by side out of the teaching building.

The setting sun cast long shadows of them, overlapping each other, just like the many afternoons they spent after school from childhood to adulthood.

Ordinary, noisy, and intimately close.

This was the most precious time for Riley as "the older brother" and "Railley Parker himself," a time that brought him more peace and satisfaction than any moment of swinging between skyscrapers or acquiring some novel gadget.

As for the mystery Peter kept...

Hey, what's there to be afraid of?

After all, he's my own brother. How could I possibly harm him?

He shook his head, temporarily putting his doubts aside.

Perhaps, as Peter said, we will know when the time comes.

But now, he just wants to enjoy this moment of peace and quiet, filled with the warmth of everyday life.
