Chapter 155 The Princess's Adventure
Chapter 155 The Princess's Adventure
"Look at this!"
Vivian pointed out the magazine she had stepped on to Lydia and angrily repeated her "womanizing radish" theory.
Lydia glanced at the report, but unlike Vivian, she wasn't indignant. Instead, she blinked and said, "Oh, this prophet... he's really famous lately."
"But Vivian, you have a really unique perspective. Everyone else is focused on his potions and power, but you're more concerned about how many girls are around him..."
"This is very important, okay!" Vivian emphasized.
"Okay, okay, very important." Lydia knew her best friend was exceptionally naive and stubborn in some ways, so she didn't argue and mysteriously shook the pendant in her hand.
"Let's not talk about that womanizing prophet anymore, I'll show you something even more interesting!"
"What is this?" Vivian's attention was indeed drawn.
"Well!" Lydia held the pendant up to Vivian.
"This is the latest magical artifact to emerge from the Magic Forest—the [Transformation Magic Pendant]!"
"It's a magical artifact produced in an elven settlement called Silver Dew Village. I don't know how it ended up on the black market. My father's men just got their hands on it!"
"A shape-shifting pendant?" Vivian asked curiously as she took it.
The pendant has a warm, smooth feel to the touch. At its core is a small piece of magic crystal that constantly changes color, set in a platinum base. The design is simple.
"Yes! It's said that wearing it and infusing it with a little magic can temporarily alter one's physical appearance, making one resemble another race!"
"The duration depends on the magic output, but the lowest power consumption mode can last for most of the day without any problems!"
"And it's incredibly realistic! It can even simulate the aura about 70-80%! It's not some low-level illusion!"
Lydia excitedly introduced it.
"Really?"
"What can you become? An elf? A dwarf?"
Vivian became interested.
"In theory, several templates for common non-human races are pre-defined..."
"Like this!"
Lydia retrieved a pendant, eagerly put it around her neck, closed her eyes, and infused it with magic.
A soft light flashed, and Lydia's figure underwent a subtle change.
Her ears became furry and droopy, and a large brown tail popped out from above her rump.
What's most striking is that her originally unremarkable chest suddenly became voluptuous, stretching her dress taut!
However, their appearances are still not much different, except that they look much more mature and less childish.
"Wow!" Vivian exclaimed, reaching out to touch Lydia's tail with curiosity.
"It really is! It's fluffy and so soft! Lydia, what have you turned into?"
"A dog-like orc! The design is supposedly based on a popular dog tribe!"
Lydia's voice sounded a little muffled; she was adjusting to her new body proportions, especially the weight in her chest.
"Look! Isn't it super fun! And it uses so little magic, I feel like I could last all day!"
She excitedly spun around in place, her big tail swishing back and forth.
"I want to try it too! I want to try it too!" Vivian was so tempted that she immediately put on another pendant.
"Concentrate and imagine what you want to become..."
"There are preset templates inside the pendant: cat, rabbit, fox, elf... choose one!" Lydia instructed.
Vivian closed her eyes, and magic flowed within her.
She subconsciously thought of the proud and beautiful pure white long-haired cats kept in the palace.
The light flashed again.
Vivian felt her ears had shifted to the top of her head, becoming pointed and covered with soft white fur.
Behind her, a long, lithe white cat tail swayed gracefully.
Her fingernails seemed to have become sharper, and her pupils turned into vertical pupils in the sunlight.
Her figure became more slender and agile, but the changes in her chest...
Hmm, she doesn't seem as exaggerated as Lydia, just a little bit rounder.
"Cat people! They're cat-orcs!" Lydia clapped her hands and laughed.
"It's a rare white one! Beautiful! Vivian, you look like a noble yet cunning white cat!"
Vivian ran to the crystal mirror by the terrace and stared in astonishment at the "half-orc girl" in the mirror, who had cat ears, a swishing cat tail, and bright eyes.
She then smiled excitedly: "It really has changed! It's amazing! And it really doesn't consume much magic power!"
Two girls, now transformed into half-orcs, were excitedly experiencing their "new bodies" on the terrace, playing around for quite a while.
Lydia suddenly leaned closer, lowered her voice, and said in a cacophony of encouragement, "Vivian, just playing around in the palace isn't very interesting..."
"Would you like to go on an adventure outside dressed like this?"
"adventure?"
"Where should we go on our adventure?"
Vivian's cat ears twitched.
"Of course, we should go to the source of this thing—the Forest of Magic!" Lydia's eyes lit up.
"I heard that a super interesting Adventurers' Guild has just been established in a place called Stardew Town, near the Iron Mountain Range!"
"Any race can register as an adventurer, accept quests, explore dungeons, and exchange points for lots of amazing items!"
"This pendant might have come from there!"
"The Enchanted Forest? Stardew Town?"
"But aren't humans not allowed to enter that area freely? And we're like this..."
Vivian hesitated.
"That's why you need a pendant!" Lydia shook the pendant around her neck.
"We look like dog-orcs and cat-orcs right now!"
"As long as I'm careful, sneaking in shouldn't be a problem! I've even found out the route; there's a relatively safe smuggling route that bypasses the main checkpoints..."
Lydia describes the novel quests that the Adventurers' Guild might offer, the unknown dungeons, and the various exotic races and landscapes.
This made Vivian, who was already very adventurous and bored in the palace, very interested.
The thought of escaping tedious etiquette classes and exploring unknown lands like a hero in a story ignited a restless light in Vivian's deep blue cat-like eyes.
As for Lynn, the "womanizer prophet" she disliked?
That place seems to be within his sphere of influence?
Who cares! I'm going on an adventure, what if I run into some annoying guy!
I'm definitely going to kick his butt hard with my little leather shoes.
"good!"
"Let's go on an adventure! To Stardew Town! To check out the Adventurers' Guild!"
Vivian clenched her little fists, her cat tail wagging excitedly.
"Very good!"
Lydia cheered.
"Then let's get ready and set off first thing tomorrow morning!"
"I've already thought of a name for the team: Paw Patrol!"
"No, why not call it the Meow Meow Team?"
"How about we call it the Cat and Woof Squad?"
"Alright!"
Two curious and daring girls embarked on a journey to the Magic Forest and Stardew Town.
Their fathers will likely soon have a major headache about this.
