Chapter 167 Fully Booked Rooms
Chapter 167 Fully Booked Rooms
The afternoon sun filtered through the woods and dappled the path leading to Stardew Town.
Lynn walked in front, followed by two girls wearing brand-new blue scale armor.
Lydia would take a few steps and then glance down at her clothes, her fingers unconsciously tracing the perfectly fitted waistline.
She always felt that something was wrong, not the clothes, but her body.
just like……
Wearing this outfit feels like being seen naked by Baki-san.
Every curve, every undulation, was seen by those eyes, measured by those hands, and then tightly wrapped by these blue scales.
Lydia's face turned red again.
Vivian walked beside her, her cat tail swaying unconsciously from side to side.
She tried to calm her tail down, but the unruly white furry thing wouldn't listen to her at all, waving like a flamboyant little flag.
She could only steal glances at the silver-gray figure in front of her out of the corner of her eye.
Baki the Elder.
She silently repeated the name in her heart, and then remembered what she had just said.
"Much, much better than that disgusting prophet."
it is true.
She was sincere.
That so-called Prophet Lynn, surrounded by a bunch of women, even invented that lewd potion, it's just...
Vivian cursed inwardly for a moment, then suddenly froze.
and many more.
Why would she compare Baki-san to that disgusting prophet in her mind?
Why should she care whether Baki-san is better than anyone else?
she……
"Stardew Town is just ahead."
Lynn's voice pulled her out of her chaotic thoughts.
Vivian looked up.
Suddenly, the forest opened up, and a small town built against the mountainside appeared at the edge of the view.
Wooden houses are scattered about, with wisps of smoke rising from their chimneys. Further away, you can see steaming hot spring pools and various newly built buildings.
"We're finally here!" Lydia cheered, her dog ears twitching with joy. "Now we can finally get some rest!"
Vivian also breathed a sigh of relief.
The experience of the past day and night was too stimulating; all she wanted to do now was find a soft bed and throw herself into it.
Then....
Then, please don't let that wolf-eared uncle appear in your dreams again.
However, half an hour later.
"I'm sorry, sir, we're really out."
The innkeeper spread his hands, looking helpless. "As you can see, this town is packed every day. The Adventurers' Guild has opened, the dungeon has opened, the hot springs have opened, and countless adventurers are flocking here."
Lynn frowned: "Not a single one?"
"Don't even mention one room, even the woodshed has been rented by a dwarf squad." The dwarf aunt looked at them sympathetically. "You should try asking around elsewhere, but... it's unlikely."
Another half hour later.
"It's full."
The innkeeper was a clever man; he closed the door after speaking.
Half an hour later.
"Sir, you'll need to make a reservation in advance! Our rooms are booked up for at least two weeks!"
One hour later.
The sun began to set in the west.
Lynn stood at the door of the last inn in Stardew Town, and finally, a different answer came from inside:
"I'm sorry, there's only one double room left."
silence.
Lynn turned around and looked at the two girls behind her.
Lydia kept her head down, her dog ears drooping limply, and her fingers twisting the hem of her clothes.
Vivian's cat tail twisted nervously into a pretzel.
"One room," Lynn repeated, "a double room."
The innkeeper nodded: "Yes, just one room."
"Do you three want it? If not, I'll pass it on to the group of dwarf brothers behind us right away. They just asked about it too."
Lynn was silent for two seconds.
He said, "You can stay here for now, and then go out and look for it yourselves."
The voice just fell.
Lynn's sleeve was gently tugged.
He lowered his head.
Lydia's fingers gripped his sleeve, her eyes fixed on the ground, her ears burning red, and her voice barely audible:
"Uncle...it's so late now..."
It's getting dark outside...
"We...we..."
She couldn't continue.
Vivian nodded frantically beside her, her cat tail wagging nervously behind her.
Lynn looked at them.
These two pampered princesses had just experienced a goblin attack, giant frog corrosion, and a giant python chase yesterday.
They're probably still scared.
Lydia looked up, her eyes slightly red, but there was a strange determination in them:
"Uncle, let's live together."
"N-nothing..."
"We believe in the uncle."
After she finished speaking, her whole body turned bright red.
Vivian whispered, "Yes...we believe in Uncle Baki...he's a good person..."
Good people.
Lynn's lips twitched slightly.
If they knew that this "good person" was actually that "disgusting prophet"...
He didn't think any further.
Oh well, I'll just make do for one night. I'll sleep on a makeshift bed on the floor.
"Okay." He nodded to the shopkeeper. "We'll take this one."
The room wasn't big, but it was very clean.
A large bed, big enough to sleep three or four people, was placed by the window, with snow-white and soft bedding.
Outside the window, you can see distant mountains and a gradually darkening sky.
The most eye-catching thing is—
Behind the screen, there is a small door leading to the open-air hot spring.
"Our specialty!" the owner said with a smile before leaving.
"Each room has direct access to a private mini-hot spring bath! It may not be large, but it's absolutely private! Enjoy yourselves—"
The door closed.
A subtle silence fell over the room.
The three people stood in front of the large bed, and none of them spoke.
Lydia stared at the pattern on the bed sheet as if it were some kind of extraordinary work of art.
Vivian studied the wood grain on the ceiling until her neck ached from the stiffness.
Lynn looked at them and sighed.
"You all rest first."
"I'm going out for a walk to see what food is available in town."
He turned and walked out.
"Uncle!"
Both hands grabbed his sleeves at the same time.
Lynn turned around.
Lydia and Vivian, one on each side, each clutched one of his sleeves, their faces flushed red, but neither of them let go.
"Um..." Lydia's voice trembled, "It's getting dark...it's dangerous outside..."
"And we..." Vivian continued, her cat tail somehow wrapping around Lynn's wrist again, "We haven't eaten yet... Uncle, could you take us to eat?"
Lynn remained silent.
"Okay, shall we go out to eat together?" He sighed again.
"Need not!"
"The boss said... there's a restaurant downstairs... we can order food and have it delivered..."
Lydia quickly said.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Vivian nodded frantically. "Uncle, please don't go out... It's late... It's cold outside..."
Lynn looked at them.
cold?
It's summer now.
He didn't expose it.
"Okay." He walked to the table and sat down. "Let's order first. After we eat—"
He paused.
After we finished eating, there was still one problem.
spa.
After dinner
The plates were taken away.
The sky outside the window was completely dark, and the stars lit up one by one, hanging in the deep blue sky.
Silence fell in the room once again.
Because now we are facing a new problem.
Take a hot spring bath.
The small hot spring pool directly connected to the room was steaming through the half-open door, carrying a faint smell of sulfur and a relaxing warmth.
But there is only one pool.
Lynn stood up: "You guys soak first. I'm going out—"
"Uncle!"
And it happened at the same time.
Lynn turned around.
Lydia and Vivian stood by the bed, exchanged a glance, and then—
Lydia spoke, her voice so soft it was almost inaudible:
"The owner said... the hot spring pool is... connected to the rooms..."
"If we're soaking... the uncle goes out..."
"What if... what if there are bad guys..."
Vivian chimed in, the cat's tail wagging nervously:
"Although the uncle said there's that eagle outside..."
"But...but..."
"We're scared..."
Lynn looked at them.
So?
He waited until they finished speaking.
Lydia took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and said it all in one breath:
"Why don't you stay here, Uncle, and wait until we're done soaking before you soak too?"
Vivian nodded vigorously beside her.
Lynn: "..."
He was silent for two seconds.
"Okay," he said. "You guys soak, I'll wait here."
Then he sat back down at the table, with his back to the hot spring, picked up the teacup on the table, and poured himself a cup of cold tea.
In the hot spring pool.
Vivian submerged herself in the hot water, leaving only half her head and a pair of cat ears exposed.
The misty air blurred the view.
Through the gap in the screen, she could vaguely see the figure with its back to her.
That quiet profile.
Occasionally, I'll raise my cup and take a sip of tea.
He just sat there.
I was less than ten steps away from her.
He knew she wasn't wearing anything.
He waited outside.
Vivian buried her face in the water and gurgled out a string of bubbles.
Lydia was beside her, also only showing half of her head.
Her face was flushed, it was hard to tell whether it was from heat or embarrassment; her dog ears clung softly to her hair, and she curled up into a ball.
"Vivian..." she whispered.
"Um……"
"Don't you think...?"
"What do you think...?"
"It feels... so strange..."
silence.
Then Vivian replied in a breathy voice:
"Um……"
"but……"
"But what...?"
"But..." Vivian's voice was so soft it was almost inaudible, "but I also feel... at ease."
Lydia didn't say anything.
Because that's what she thought too.
Uncle Baki was guarding outside.
Just like last night in the shelter.
He won't come in.
He would just sit there with his back to them, waiting for them to finish washing.
Like a... gentleman
but.
Lydia inexplicably recalled the scene of being seen naked by Baki while taking a shower that day.
Lydia dared not think any further.
She submerged herself completely in the water, letting the warm spring water cover her burning face.
Half an hour later.
"Uncle...we're all set."
Lynn stood up and turned around.
Two young girls, wrapped in bathrobes provided by the inn, their hair wet and draped over their shoulders, their faces flushed, stood beside the screen.
Vivian's cat ears twitched, shaking off the water droplets.
Lydia's dog ears drooped limply, and her hair was still dripping wet.
"Your turn," Vivian whispered. "We...we're going to bed..."
She couldn't continue speaking halfway through her sentence.
Bed.
A large bed.
three people.
Lynn nodded without changing his expression, took out a change of clothes from his bag, and walked towards the hot spring.
He paused as he passed by them.
Dry your hair.
"Otherwise, you'll likely have a headache tomorrow."
He said.
Then he went inside and closed the screen.
Vivian and Lydia stood there, stunned for two seconds.
Then at the same time.
My face turned bright red.
Uncle Baki is concerned about us.
He was concerned that we might have headaches.
Lydia grabbed a towel and vigorously rubbed her hair, her mind a complete mess.
Vivian stood to the side, her cat tail curled into a heart shape again, completely unaware of her own presence.
When Lynn came out of the hot spring, the two princesses had already crawled into bed, with only their heads sticking out.
They lay side by side, with one person's space between them.
Moonlight streamed in through the window and fell onto the bedding.
Lynn glanced at the empty seat but didn't say anything.
He walked to the bedside, lifted the covers, and lay down.
There was a fist's distance between them.
silence.
The chirping of insects came from outside the window.
then.
A warm little hand reached out from the side and gently grasped his sleeve.
It's Lydia.
Her voice was so soft it sounded like a dream:
"Goodnight, sir..."
On the other side.
Vivian's cat tail had somehow gotten wrapped around his wrist again.
She didn't say anything.
But the tip of its tail gently rubbed against his wrist bone.
Lynn stared at the ceiling.
Three seconds later.
He sighed softly.
"Good night."
