Chapter 957 - 187: Proposal (Part 3)
Chapter 957 - 187: Proposal (Part 3)
If you can’t forgive your parents, you are unfilial, guilty of serious wrongdoing, worthy of deep hatred!
Tang Yuwen suddenly sighed deeply and adopted a posture as if he wanted to have a heartfelt conversation with Tang Yige, saying, "Yige, Tang Ruan has done many wrong things to you. When she initially chose to come home and confess to me and your mom, both your mom and I were very shocked and angry, and we gave your sister quite a telling off on your behalf."
"I can tell that your sister has genuinely awakened this time, planning to actively correct her mistakes and make amends with you. As the elder sister, can’t you forgive her this one time? If... if your mom doesn’t make it through this, you’d essentially become Tang Ruan’s mother; an elder sister as a mother, Yige."
Tang Yige’s eyes welled up a touch of red.
Her fingertips pressed firmly into her palms as her arms hung by her sides.
Tang Yuwen watched the redness emerge in Tang Yige’s eyes, squinting partially, and continued, "Think about your mom. Despite all our efforts to save her, she remains determined to die, refusing even the slightest desire to live.
Is there not a trace of relation to your sister in this? Wouldn’t it be preferable for her to never wake again than to witness you two sisters in constant conflict upon waking?"
Tang Yige stared at Tang Yuwen, her eyes filled with cold indifference.
The day Zhou Xueran was in trouble, she rushed to the hospital, holding her hand and imparting final words, urging her to be happy... yet she didn’t mention Tang Ruan at all.
If at that time Zhou Xueran had asked her to let Tang Ruan go, she would undoubtedly agree for her sake, but deep down in her heart, there was resentment and dissatisfaction.
Surely Zhou Xueran was aware of this, which is why she didn’t bring it up.
But just because she didn’t mention it, does that mean she didn’t feel that way?
Of course she felt it.
Zhou Xueran didn’t say it because she knew deep down, Tang Yige understood the unspoken words she wanted to convey.
The reason she chose not to say it was merely to allow Tang Yige to make her own choice.
But Tang Yige... how could she possibly manage it!?
"Yige, let me tell you something heartfelt. If your mom really leaves us this time, I would certainly not live beyond her," Tang Yuwen said heavily.
Tang Yige trembled, her clenched jaws fixed steadfastly as she stared at Tang Yuwen.
Tang Yuwen chuckled bitterly, "Just like you said, without your mom, I simply cannot go on alone. You saw what the house was like last night when you came home. Instead of living day by day in such a void of pain, better to join her."
"Join her? You didn’t treat her well while she was alive, and now you want to follow her in death to continue tormenting her?"
Tang Yige laughed coldly, yet tears streamed down her face from the corners of her eyes.
Tang Yuwen’s expression cooled slightly; had it not been for the tears on Tang Yige’s face, he probably wouldn’t have been able to control his temper either.
Clenching his hands tightly, Tang Yuwen took a few deep breaths and said, "This is between your mom and I; maybe you see it differently, but this is how we’ve interacted all these years. We got through decades together; why suddenly, at this moment, does it become unbearable to the extent of wanting to die?
You believe your mom chose to end her life because of me, but I think it’s because she didn’t want to see you and Tang Ruan destroy each other, leaving her heartbroken enough to choose death!"
"Even now, you keep shirking responsibility!"
Tang Yige’s voice raspy and filled with despair, as she stared furiously at Tang Yuwen.
Unhappy with Tang Yige’s attitude, Tang Yuwen furrowed his brow and pressed, "I’m not shirking responsibility; I do acknowledge my part in this, but can you deny that it has nothing to do with you and your sister?"
Tang Yige pursed her lips tightly, "Tang Ruan committed mistakes and broke the law; she should be punished."
"But she already knows she was wrong!"
"If a murderer realizes they were wrong, are they then innocent? What about the victim they killed? Who will seek justice for them?"
"How could you compare your sister’s situation to a murderer! This is entirely different matters. When it’s all said and done, the business between you and your sister is merely family affairs. Family scandals shouldn’t be aired publicly!"
"Why do you always argue unreasonably like this? Do you not have any sense of right and wrong, even a little?!"
"Yige!"
Tang Yuwen inhaled with exasperation, "I said it’s your sister’s fault, your sister has wronged you. Through these years, you’ve suffered, but when your sister returns, your mom gets better, and the three of us will spend the rest of our lives compensating and atoning for you. Is this not enough? Are you satisfied with this? cough cough cough..."
After saying this, Tang Yuwen started coughing violently again.
Tang Yige saw the bulging veins on his hand with the IV needle stuck in it.
Tang Yige clenched her hands forcefully, turning her face stiffly to one side.
Tang Yuwen after a coughing fit, felt as if all his strength had been depleted, laying on the hospital bed, breathing heavily as he watched Tang Yige.
His voice trembling slightly, Tang Yige said, "I have something else to attend to, I’m leaving first."
"Yige..."
Tang Yige left without turning back, "If you don’t want your precious daughter to come back and not see you, just continue to torment yourself then."
Tang Yige’s icy voice rang out, causing Tang Yuwen to become so angry that his face flushed red.
Yet in an instant, his dim eyes brightened suddenly.
The anger on Tang Yuwen’s face also vanished, leaving him much more spirited.
...
Upon leaving Linx Hospital, Tang Yige didn’t drive straight back to Jinxiu Huadu, but sat quietly in her car for about half an hour before driving toward Shengge Law Firm.
Si Nan received a call from Tang Yige just after he and Geng Yi exited a secret meeting room.
Learning that Yige was downstairs at Shengge Law Firm Building, Si Nan’s eyes lit up suddenly, and he patted Geng Yi’s shoulder before taking the dedicated elevator down to the building’s lower floor parking garage.
As he stepped out of the elevator, Si Nan immediately saw Tang Yige leaning against her car, gently cradling her abdomen while waiting for him.
Si Nan’s lips curled upwards, his long legs hurrying excitedly toward Yige, almost as if he were running.
When Tang Yige saw him approaching, she lowered her hands and stood up straight.
Unexpectedly, as he came by, he immediately embraced her, lowering his head to seal her lips with a kiss.
Tang Yige inhaled lightly, then laughed softly, gripping both sides of his suit jacket.
Si Nan pressed her against the car, kissing fiercely before he released her lips, breathing heavily as his eyes shone brightly gazing at her. "What made you think to come find me?"
Tang Yige lowered her eyelashes, releasing his suit from her grip, smoothing the wrinkles she’d caused before lifting her eyes to meet his gaze. "I just felt like coming, can’t I come?"
"Whenever I’m here, Mrs. is always welcome to inspect." Si Nan replied with a smile, planting a couple of pecks on Yige’s lip corners.
Tang Yige’s cheeks warmed, "Who’s your Mrs.?"
Si Nan hugged Yige’s waist tighter, "The lady in my arms; do you need an introduction?"
"... Annoying!" Tang Yige smiled broadly, her hands shifting from his chest to embrace him lightly at his waist, gazing into his eyes with a hint of seriousness, "Does my sudden visit disrupt your work?"
Si Nan stared at her silent.
Tang Yige’s smile faded, her tension rising, "Did I interrupt you?"
Si Nan then raised an eyebrow, tapping her nose lightly with his long fingers, before lifting one of her hands to pull her closer to him: "Even if you did, it wouldn’t matter. Between work and wife, wife is certainly more important."
Si Nan spoke while opening the car door, leaning down to kiss Yige’s cheek.
Tang Yige was simply overwhelmed by his gentlemanly warmth, blushing as she slid into the car.
After settling herself inside, Tang Yige paused, gazing up at Si Nan standing outside the car. "Can we leave now?"
"It’s already taken care of." Si Nan bent down, gently fastening Tang Yige’s seatbelt, then as he stood up again, he brushed her head lightly, smiling warmly before closing the car door.
Inside the car, Tang Yige clutched her heart, internally lamenting: Ah, my old maiden heart~~
Si Nan must secretly be reading some guide to romance.
Suddenly becoming such a gentlemanly warm-hearted man, she was really not used to it!
Yet... she really did revel in it.
Si Nan got in the car, seeing Tang Yige’s flushed face and misty eyes gazing at him, couldn’t help but humorously pinched her cheek, "Heading back to Jinxiu Huadu?"
"No, let’s eat, I’m hungry." Tang Yige replied.
Si Nan surprised, looked at Tang Yige, "Little Rui and Aunt Zhang are also out."
Tang Yige shook her head as she looked at him, "Not today. Just you and me, on our own."
Si Nan smirked as he fastened his seatbelt again, glancing at Tang Yige, his thin lips gently releasing two words, "A date?"
