Chapter 158 Walking into a Trap
Chapter 158 Walking into a Trap
Living alone in London, Harry will finally gain the freedom he has longed for.
You can sleep as late as you want, eat whatever you want, and go wherever you want.
Diagon Alley, behind the Leaky Cauldron, is a long cobblestone street lined with some of the world’s most alluring wizarding shops.
Harry can enjoy the rest of his summer vacation without being controlled or restricted. How many people wouldn't like this kind of lifestyle?
Going with Belvina would certainly not be as free as living alone in London, but it's not without its advantages.
Harry had only lived with the Weasleys for a short time before, but by going with Belvina, he could gain a better understanding of life in a wizarding family.
Moreover, Belvina is generally easy to get along with and doesn't always live under the same roof as Harry, so Harry still has a certain degree of freedom.
Most importantly, Belvina is an exceptionally skilled witch. If I could learn even a trick or two from her, I could make up for all the losses I made in the Defense Against the Dark Arts over the past two years.
Both options had their advantages, and Harry was unable to make a decision for a moment.
Belvina didn't interrupt Harry's thoughts. Professor Black, in a playful mood, slowly walked along the curb of Magnolia Crescent Street, her arms outstretched as if she were walking on a log bridge.
In fact, Belvina's idea was very simple: to provide Harry with shelter and protection in order to keep Sirius Black away from him.
The Ministry of Magic was certain that Sirius Black would seek out Harry after his escape, so they set up a tight trap in Little Wheeington well in advance.
Sirius Black is just waiting to walk into the trap when he comes to "take revenge".
Although the reason that prompted Sirius to escape from prison is still unclear, based on what Belvina knows about him, he must be worried about the son of an old friend and might come to secretly take a look.
That's why Belvina wanted to take Harry away. She wanted to be in the open, to stand by Harry's side, and in this way, to warn Sirius—"Don't get involved, it's all justified."
So many days have passed since the prison break, and even the strongest anger in Belvina's heart has mostly dissipated.
Once you've had your fill of tantrums, it's time to get down to business.
Since Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban through his own efforts, let's make the best of a bad situation. As long as we find him before the Ministry of Magic catches him, the mystery surrounding Godric's Hollow will be solved.
The night was gentle, and a light breeze caressed the streets. The streets of Magnolia Flower Crescent Street were deserted, and not a single light shone from the square houses.
The silence between teacher and student continued as they walked one after the other down the dark, quiet street. Belvina pondered the events of the past few days, while Harry was caught in a dilemma.
As Harry walked, he suddenly stopped and looked around warily.
Just now, Harry suddenly felt a strange stinging pain in his neck, as if someone was staring at him.
"What's wrong?" Belvina asked, gripping her wand tightly in her pocket. "Did you see something?" she asked tentatively.
"I don't know, I can't quite explain the feeling," Harry said vaguely. "I just felt like someone was watching me, or maybe it was just a small animal passing by."
"Wand, Harry," Belvina said. "As your teacher at the school, I permit you to use magic."
Belvina looked around. The houses on both sides of the street were neater and tidier than the last. The narrow alleys, which were not illuminated by the streetlights, were pitch black. It seemed that something was hidden in those alleys.
"Flickering," Harry murmured, and the tip of his holly staff glowed. "Maybe I'm just imagining things. I'm just too nervous tonight," Harry said sheepishly, his mood having been like a rollercoaster tonight.
Harry's feeling was correct, because Belvina also sensed that "something" was watching them, albeit for only a moment.
With her hands in her pockets, Belvina stepped forward, shielding Harry behind her, then drew her wand and pointed it toward the dark, narrow alley.
The tip of the acacia wand first lit up with a beam of light, and then the beam of light from the wand's illumination spell flew toward the narrow alley, instantly illuminating the dark alley like a flare.
It was a big black dog, dark and skinny, with a pair of bright eyes that gleamed with a strange light. It sat at the entrance of the alley, neither driven away by the beam of light nor showing any intention of approaching.
Belvina tilted her head and frowned. She saw a very human-like expression on the big black dog's face. This dog was so human-like, it must have become a spirit!
Immediately afterward, a sense of familiarity washed over her, and Belvina suddenly realized that this big black dog felt particularly familiar to her, especially its eyes that reflected the light.
"A big black dog," Harry said sheepishly. He had really overreacted. It was just a stray black dog, yet it had scared him so much. He was such a coward.
"Stand still and don't put your wand away," Belvina said, taking a few steps forward before stopping to make sure Harry behind her couldn't see her movements.
The big, skinny black dog remained squatting in the same spot, making low growling sounds, as if warning or perhaps out of fear.
The large black dog with a high degree of anthropomorphism appeared on Magnolia Crescent Street and stared at Harry without moving. This situation is still within the realm of possibility. Perhaps the stray black dog is particularly intelligent, or perhaps it was just a chance encounter.
Coincidentally, the Black family's emblem is related to dogs.
The Black family crest is a shield adorned with a mountain symbol, two pentagrams, and a short sword, with a large, leaping dog on each side of the shield.
Magnolia Crescent Street, Harry Potter, the Black family crest, and a large black dog with a highly anthropomorphic appearance—it's far-fetched and coincidental, but in Belvina's view, it's more than just a coincidence.
Where Harry couldn't see, Belvina subtly made a universally recognized friendly gesture, her slender, white middle finger slowly rising and exposed to the gentle evening breeze.

The large, dark, skinny dog whimpered twice, wagged its tail a couple of times, and ran off, looking back every few steps, its gaunt figure disappearing into the dark alley.
"Professor?" Harry called from behind. "That big black dog ran away."
"It's probably just a stray dog that happened to run into us," Belvina said meaningfully. "Hopefully it can survive the cold winter."
Winter? Isn't it summer now? Harry felt an itch on his head, like something was growing on it.
"So, have you made up your mind?" Belvina turned and walked back. "Where to? What mode of transportation?"
Harry shook his head, still unable to make a decision. He wanted to stay with Belvina, whom he felt very close to, but he was also reluctant to give up the wonderful life at the Leaky Cauldron. He was torn between the two.
As for which mode of transportation to choose, Harry hadn't thought about that yet.
Based on the experience of using FlooNet at the Weasleys' house last time, wizards' modes of transportation are usually not very comfortable, so Apparition is ruled out first.
I'd like to give the Rider Bus a try; hopefully, riding this local bus will be as comfortable and smooth as the Hogwarts Express.
Thinking about this, Harry said, "I want to take the Knight Bus, but I still haven't decided where to go."
Indecisiveness is incurable; you might as well just wait to die.
"Take your wand, stand in the street, and raise your wand," Belvina said. "Don't be nervous, relax. Harry, obediently stand on the side of the street and nervously wave your right hand."
boom!
With a deafening roar, a blinding light suddenly shone through, and Harry quickly shielded his eyes with his hands.
When Harry opened his eyes again, he was being dragged to the curb by the back of Belvina's collar, and only then did he notice the purple three-story bus in front of him.
The bright purple triple-decker bus seemed to have fallen from the sky, with huge wheels, dazzling headlights, and the words "Knight Bus" written in gold letters on the windshield.
"It's incredible," Harry muttered to himself. He would be a third-year student when school started in September, but he was still amazed by the wonders of magic.
"By Merlin, please, stop acting so naive!" Belvina said disdainfully.
At this moment, a ticket seller in a purple uniform jumped off the bus. The ticket seller looked to be about eighteen or nineteen years old, with a pair of large, protruding ears and a few pimples on her face.
He glanced at Belvina, then at the dazed Harry, before breaking into a warm smile. "Welcome aboard the Knight Bus, beautiful lady," the skinny, acne-covered young man said enthusiastically. "I'm your ticket collector for tonight, Stan Sampark."
Sampak was so enthusiastic for two reasons: firstly, Belvina was young and beautiful, and secondly, he felt that Belvina looked familiar.
After all, Belvina had been featured in the Daily Prophet several times because of the Order of Merlin First Class award, and her outstanding appearance made her hard to forget.
As for the dazed Harry, Sam Parker simply ignored the thirteen-year-old boy. As long as he didn't reveal his iconic lightning bolt-shaped scar, many wizards wouldn't recognize Harry Potter.
"Get on the bus, what are you standing there for?" Belvina said from the doorway as she boarded the bus. "If you don't get on now, the magnolias will bloom."
A stunned Harry then realized what was happening and boarded the bus with his huge but not heavy suitcase.
Stan Sampark's attention finally shifted to Harry, his gaze landing on Harry's forehead. He suddenly asked, "What's that on your forehead?"
Not wanting to stand out, Harry quickly swept his hair down to cover the distinctive scar on his forehead and casually said, "It's nothing, I just bumped into something."
Harry covered the scar on his forehead as he looked for Belvina, who had boarded the car earlier.
"By the way, where are you going?" Stan Sampak asked again. "You can go wherever you want as long as you're on land."
Belvina didn't speak, but looked at Harry, waiting for him to make a decision.
