Chapter 210 Brotherly Love and Sisterly Respect

Sirius looked at Belvina with suspicion. Who was the one who had been in Azkaban for twelve years? Had Belvina gone mad?

The weak-willed Regulus is called the bravest Slytherin? What a joke!

Is joining the Death Eaters considered brave? Is wanting to leave the Death Eaters considered brave?

Seeing a hint of mockery slowly creep onto Sirius's pale face, Belvina wasn't angry; she simply rolled her eyes dismissively.

She said, "With your limited knowledge and empty mind, it's hard for you to understand Regulus's courage. You just need to remember one thing: Regulus is not the kind of person you think he is."

Because it concerns such a top secret as Horcruxes, Belvina didn't want to say too much, at least not now.

Belvina had no doubt about Sirius's determination to resist Voldemort, but she didn't trust Sirius, or rather, she didn't trust the Gryffindor traits in him.

"Are you saying I don't know Regulus?" Sirius said dismissively. "I've spent far more time with him than you have."

"You've spent quite a bit of time with Peter Pettigrew, how come you didn't realize he was a spy?" Belvina retorted directly, saying that spending a lot of time together doesn't necessarily mean you understand someone well enough.

Belvina looked at Lupin and continued, "Dumbledore told me that he had long suspected there was a traitor within the Order of the Phoenix, and that someone had been secretly leaking the Potters' whereabouts to Voldemort. Now that I think about it—"

"Peter Pettigrew! He betrayed us long ago!" Lupin blurted out. None of them had noticed Peter, nor that he had already switched sides.

The incomparably powerful Voldemort shocked all wizards with his repeated cruel and bloody massacres. For Peter Pettigrew, however, this was a different story.

Is there any better option than currying favor with Voldemort and siding with him?

When the ruthless Voldemort came to power, some wizards even felt despair, pessimistically believing that light could not dispel darkness.

Peter Pettigrew's betrayal had been foreshadowed, but apart from Dumbledore's suspicions, no one else noticed his treacherous actions.

Later, Peter Pettigrew successfully framed Sirius Black, firmly placing the label of spy on Sirius Black.

He himself cleared his name, faked his death, and became a hero in everyone's eyes.

"He got tricked, Sirius," Belvina said. "Just imagine how smug he must have been when he found out he was going to be the Potters' secret keeper."

Every syllable, every word, was like a sharp knife, piercing Sirius's already wounded heart.

Sirius suddenly burst into laughter, a terrible, unpleasant laugh that filled the entire bedroom.

Then, Sirius suddenly roared, "Why didn't I realize he was a spy sooner! He always liked strong friends to get favors from others. It used to be me, Remus, and James. I should have known! I should have known—"

As Sirius roared, his howl turned into a mournful lament, tears streaming down his face like a burst dam, his once handsome face still contorted in a ferocious grimace.

Lupin raised his hand and placed it on Sirius's shoulder, kneading it firmly. Lupin didn't say a word; at this moment, Sirius couldn't be comforted with words.

All words of comfort are as pale as Sirius Black's skin.

The mournful cries gradually subsided, transforming into a depressing screech, like that of a wounded wild beast.

Despite enduring wind and rain, and fleeing the world, Sirius Black did not shed a tear; despite the Ministry of Magic's inescapable net, Sirius Black did not shed a tear; even with broken legs and knocked-out teeth, Sirius Black still did not shed a tear.

But when James Potter's name was mentioned repeatedly, Sirius Black, who had been imprisoned in Azkaban for twelve years, broke down and wept like a child who had done something wrong.

Even Belvina, whose tongue was usually sharp, didn't want to say anything more hurtful. She sat quietly in her armchair, trying not to make a sound.

A long time passed, until the sky began to lighten, and the low sobbing in the room gradually subsided.

Sirius's eyes were red and swollen, making him look somewhat comical.

"What should we do next?" Lupin asked. "Sirius can't stay with you forever; Snape has his eye on us."

Although Belvina and Sirius are siblings, they are both adults and, being men and women, it is not convenient for them to share a room.

Then there's Snape, who's like a persistent ghost. Because of those old grudges, he firmly believes that Belvina (Lupin) is Sirius's mole at the school, and no amount of persuasion can change his mind. He's completely stubborn.

"I can't go there either. Snape always uses the excuse of wolfsbane to come to my place," Lupin continued. "We can't exactly send Sirius back to the Chamber of Secrets, can we?"

At this moment, Sirius Black spoke up in a hoarse voice, saying, "I haven't asked you yet where you hid me last time. It was pitch black; was that still Hogwarts?!"

"The Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin, didn't we hear about it when we were in school?" Lupin explained. "You'll have to ask your good sister for the details; she found it and was awarded the Order of Merlin for it."

"Hey, is that a First Class medal?" Sirius asked. "You didn't buy it, did you?"

"If you can't speak, then shut up, you crybaby!" Belvina said. "Hiding in the secret room for now is fine, but you can't hide there forever, it's inconvenient."

Belvina doesn't speak Parsley, but she's been good at imitating since childhood. By imitating the Parsley pronunciation, Belvina successfully opened the secret room and then kicked the limited edition Sirius Black with the tumor-like leg down the stairs.

Only after making sure that the weeping Myrtle didn't see them did Belvina and Lupin feel safe enough to walk towards the Gryffindor Tower.

It was because she hid Sirius in the secret room that Belvina dared to let Snape search the common room, since Sirius hadn't entered her common room that night.

"I do have a plan that can ensure this bastard doesn't fall into the hands of the Ministry of Magic and Snape, and might even lure out Peter Pettigrew." Belvina's eyes darted around, a mischievous idea popping into her head.

Then, Belvina said embarrassedly, "Well—maybe—probably...we'll have to sacrifice Sirius."

"Don't try that on me!" Sirius said. "My legs, my teeth, you're the one who hurt me. Don't play the innocent, pure little white flower with me, it doesn't suit you."

"Dumbledore?" Lupin asked tentatively. "You're not thinking of hiding Sirius in the Headmaster's office, are you?"

Belvina replied matter-of-factly, "Why not? Professor Dumbledore believes there's more to the story. He'll help. As long as he's there, Sirius is safe. Who would dare search Dumbledore's office?"

"But Snape sometimes goes in and out of the headmaster's office. Won't he notice something?" Lupin was still a little worried. Snape was like a turtle that had been weighed down.

"What's there to be afraid of? Dumbledore's here." Belvina waved her hand dismissively. "I just don't believe Severus would dare to force his way into the Headmaster's office."

"Snape, Snape, Snape all the time, can you please stop mentioning that snotty-nosed guy!" Sirius said irritably. "I'm not afraid of him."

Belvina chuckled and said bluntly, "He could barely hit you with one hand now. You're no different from a child in front of him."

One was imprisoned in Azkaban for twelve wasted years, while the other was once Voldemort's trusted lieutenant. Regardless of who had higher or lower magical skill before, with the balance of power shifting, Sirius Black is now no match for Snape.

Sirius curled his lip in disdain, offering no rebuttal.

Although Sirius Black hated Snape, when it came to magical talent, even Sirius had to admit that Snape was an absolute genius.

"Any more objections?" Belvina asked in a light tone. "If there are no objections, I'll go to Professor Dumbledore after dawn and hand Sirius over to him, so he won't be in my way all day."

"Ah, it's a great honor to cause trouble for the esteemed Miss Black," Sirius said smugly. "I won't kiss your shoes, Miss Black."

"Don't you think he looks like he deserves a beating?" Belvina said to Lupin. "Look, look," she pointed at Sirius, "How can you blame me for hitting him?"

Sirius Black sat in a makeshift wheelchair, his expressions and movements mimicking Belvina.

However, Sirius is a man through and through, and his attempts to imitate women look completely out of place. Sirius is also so thin now that he looks like a skeleton wallowing in self-pity, which is utterly disgusting.

"I have to admit you're absolutely right, Belvina," Lupin said gently. "Sirius can be really annoying sometimes, even back in school."

Sirius Black immediately retorted, "Remus, whose side are you on? How could you agree with this crazy woman?"

"The crazy woman you mentioned suddenly doesn't want to hand you over to Dumbledore," Belvina said slowly. "Or maybe she'll pull out the last of your teeth before handing you over to Dumbledore."

Listening to the siblings' heated bickering, Lu Ping suddenly laughed, a hearty laugh, as if he had returned to his school days.

"Alright, alright, you two stop hurting each other," Lupin said. "If Sirius becomes a toothless old man, how will Dumbledore still believe him?"

Lupin coughed lightly, his smile fading, and continued, "After handing Sirius over to Dumbledore, what are your next plans?"

"It's not really a plan; I need to discuss it with Professor Dumbledore," Belvina said modestly. "Oh, you can be modest!"

"Shut up, Sirius!" Belvina and Lupin said in unison.

Belvina glared at Sirius with annoyance, then said, "My idea is to fish, to lure Peter Pettigrew out. But the specific plan is still very naive and has many problems."

They used the news of Sirius Black's arrest to lure Peter Pettigrew out, making him obediently surface.

"Are you worried about scaring him away?" Lupin asked.

Belvina nodded and said, "He's all alone at Hogwarts, and I'm worried he might not dare to take any action."

"Little Peter definitely wouldn't dare," Sirius said seriously. "Without someone protecting him, Little Peter is just a weak and incompetent good-for-nothing!"
