Chapter 214 Being a Director Isn't Easy
The first Saturday of March, 1994.
For Hogwarts students, this will be an unforgettable day in their lives.
Early that morning, all the students arrived at the auditorium to enjoy breakfast, their laughter and chatter filling the air, the clinking of utensils creating a crisp sound.
The first and second graders were eagerly anticipating what was to come, while the third graders and above were all talking about Hogsmeade Village and what they were going to do next.
Students are willing to do anything as long as they don't have to stay in school to study, especially since Hogsmeade Village is extremely attractive to them.
Rosmerta, the still-charming tavern signboard lady; the endless pranks from Zoko's Joke Shop; and Honeyduke, which drives dentists to despair—Hogsmeade is the dream village of Hogwarts students, no matter when or where.
Before long, the students who had finished breakfast came out of the auditorium and lined up in the wide hallway, waiting for the administrator, Filch, to check the list of attendees.
Tall and strong upperclassmen quickly took over the front row seats due to their size advantage, and such ugly things as cutting in line occasionally happened.
Crabbe and Goyle were prime examples of students who cut in line. The two humanoid baboons cracked their knuckles, forcing students who didn't want to cause trouble to give up their spots.
When someone cuts in line and bullies others, there are naturally others who can't stand it and speak out for justice.
Fortunately, none of the students wanted to lose their chance to go to Hogsmeade because of the confinement, so the conflicts remained purely verbal.
At most, they would exchange friendly greetings with each other's families.
After a while, as the administrator, Filch, appeared with a long list, the long line in the lobby slowly moved.
The students were surprised to find that not only the annoying Filch was checking the student list today, but Professor Flitwick was also there.
The diminutive Professor Flitwick stood on a table, meticulously checking the Hogsmeade clearance list one by one, greatly slowing down the inspection process and delaying everyone's journey to Hogsmeade.
Many students began to secretly resent Sirius Black. Ever since the Azkaban fugitives broke into the castle again, the school had not only strengthened security measures but also imposed many restrictions on the students.
One of the restrictions was that students were not allowed to leave the castle after dark.
Harry and Ron were talking quietly as they entered the foyer, while Hermione frowned and glared at them, clearly unhappy about Ron and Harry going to Hogsmeade.
"Harry, that's Hogsmeade! You really don't want to go?" Ron said, beaming. "Black isn't hiding in Honeyduke's secret passages!"
"I didn't get permission to go to Hogsmeade, and I shouldn't have gone," Harry said softly. He desperately wanted to sneak out, but Belvina's scolding still echoed in his ears, which distressed him greatly.
Harry knew in his heart that Sirius wasn't after him, and that it should be safe to sneak into Hogsmeade, but he also felt that he shouldn't do it and shouldn't let everyone down.
Going to Hogsmeade would be unfair to Belvina's patient guidance; not going to Hogsmeade would feel like betraying himself. Harry was caught in a dilemma, unsure of what to do.
"Ron Weasley!" Hermione exclaimed, "How could you let Harry come with you to Hogsmeade! After Sirius Black almost attacked you!"
"Please, Hermione, everything will be alright. Hogsmeade has so many Aurors, Sirius wouldn't dare go into the village," Ron retorted. "If you tell Professor McGonagall or Professor Black, Harry will be truly dead."
Seeing that Ron was so magnanimous that he could hold the entire galaxy, Hermione turned to Harry and tried to persuade him not to be influenced by this fool Ron.
"Harry, you can't go to Hogsmeade, it's too dangerous," Hermione said seriously. "Also, I think you should hand over the map."
"I know, I know I shouldn't go to Hogsmeade," Harry said, distressed. He really wanted to go out and play with his friends. As for the Marauder's Map, Harry never intended to hand it in.
Growing impatient, Ron unconsciously raised his voice, saying, "Come on, Hermione, please stop causing trouble. Harry will be fine; he has the Invisibility Cloak! As long as you keep your mouth shut, no one will know."
Then Ron said to Harry, "So, are you coming or not? You didn't get a proper look around last time, no one will know, as long as we're careful."
Hermione stood with her hands on her hips, glaring at Ron. Miss Beaver seemed to want to smash her head against Ronald Weasley.
"No, although I don't know why, I have a feeling that Professor Black will definitely find out that I went to Hogsmeade," Harry said hesitantly. He wasn't worried about his own safety, but rather about Belvina finding out.
Harry gritted his teeth, kicked, and Wolfheart made his decision.
He said reluctantly, "I think I'll stay at school. Maybe Neville will play a few rounds of 'Bomb Bomb' with me."
Neville Longbottom, what a hapless fellow. Crookshanks stole the note with the password written on it from Neville, and Sirius Black easily gained access to the Gryffindor Tower using it.
Although Professor McGonagall didn't reprimand Neville in front of everyone, she still privately punished him, forbidding Neville from...
Longbottom then travels to Hogsmeade.
Harry and Neville are once again in the same boat.
"Alright, then I won't try to persuade you anymore," Ron said dejectedly. "What do you want? I'll bring it back for you."
Upon hearing Harry's decision to stay at school, Hermione immediately smiled and said, "Harry, I'll stay at school too, and I can lend you my homework to take a look."
The heartbroken Ron was speechless with surprise, his mouth agape enough to fit an egg.
After a while, Ron mumbled, "If I'm not going to Hogsmeade either, could you lend me your homework to take a look at, dear Hermione?"
Before Hermione could even refuse that idiot Ron, a deafening explosion came from outside the castle.
"What happened?"
"What happened?"
"Did something explode?"
"Finnigan? Simon Finnigan, where are you?"
The students in the lobby were startled by the sudden explosion. They didn't know what had happened, and some even suspected that a demolition expert was behind it.
Just as the students were about to descend into chaos, Professor Flitwick, standing on the table, shouted shrilly, "Quiet! Calm down!"
This is Hogwarts, you are safe!
Immediately afterwards, several professors came out of the auditorium and began to help Professor Frivi maintain order.
Professor Sprout loudly reassured the frightened students while instructing Bassheda to lead the younger students away first.
Soon, Professor McGonagall returned to the foyer, and as soon as she appeared on the marble staircase, the Gryffindor students felt as if they had found their anchor.
But when the Gryffindor students saw Snape behind Professor McGonagall, they all showed displeasure. Snape was Gryffindor's most hated professor, bar none.
Belvina calmly put down her cutlery and slowly moved out of the hall. Explosions continued to echo into the castle, but she was truly not in a hurry at all.
As Belvina slowly walked out of the Great Hall, the first thing she saw was Harry, Ron, and Hermione gathered together.
"Professor, what's going on outside?" Harry asked hastily. "Well—I'm just here to see Ron off. I'm not going to Hogsmeade."
This scared the child so much; anyone who didn't know better would think Belvina was a shrew!
"How would I know what's going on outside? I'm not named Trelawney," Belvina said casually, truly a master liar who could lie without batting an eye.
"Is it Sirius Black?" Harry asked again. With such a commotion outside, Harry suspected that Sirius and the Aurors were fighting.
Harry just couldn't understand how the Aurors found Sirius and even started fighting with him outside.
Before Belvina could provide an answer, all the students who had passed Professor Flitwick and Filch's review fled back to the castle, their faces pale and their breaths ragged.
"Oh no! It's Sirius Black!"
"Blake's broken in! They're fighting outside!"
"I saw Sirius Black, he's fighting with the Ministry of Magic!"
In a short while, the students, who had just calmed down, began to panic again, and the scene in the lobby became chaotic.
The massacre that occurred twelve years ago has proven that Sirius Black doesn't care about killing innocent people; he might just run into the castle and start a killing spree.
"Quiet! Stay calm!" Professor McGonagall shouted.
The other professors also quickly shouted to maintain order among the students, preventing them from being frightened and running away, and thus preventing a stampede.
"quiet!"
Dumbledore's booming voice suddenly appeared, his voice even drowning out the explosions outside the castle.
The headmaster announced in a booming voice, "Prefects, please take your students back to your respective common rooms. The Aurors and Strikers are currently pursuing Sirius Black, an Azkaban fugitive; the operation will be over soon."
Dumbledore stood on the luxurious marble staircase, and his mere presence gave the students a great sense of security, causing those who had been frightened by Sirius Black's reputation as a serial killer to quiet down.
Before long, students from each college gathered near their respective deans, and the male and female class leaders quickly counted the number of students.
Fortunately, all the students who had passed the initial screening had escaped back to the castle, and no one was left outside. The number of students in each college was quickly counted.
Just as the prefects were about to lead their group away, the explosions outside the castle stopped. A moment later, a group of figures appeared in front of the castle gate.
Felix Ferguson slipped into the castle, then raised his hands in a salute to the soldiers across the strait.
"Don't move! We're on the same side!" Felix shouted. "I am Felix, Captain of the Ministry of Magic's Enforcement Team!"
"Ferguson, Miss Black knows me!"
"That's right, he's from the Ministry of Magic." Belvina stepped out of the crowd and came to the castle gate.
Upon hearing Belvina confirm the other party's identity, the professors all lowered their wands, but remained on guard.
"Felix, what's the situation outside?" Belvina asked, feigning indifference. "Never mind, you should talk to Professor Dumbledore about it."
As she spoke, Belvina led Felix toward the marble staircase, while the students in the foyer, led by the professor, moved aside to make way for them.
"How's it going? Did you catch him?" Dumbledore asked, remembering Felix standing at the bottom of the stairs. Felix was the one who had been in charge of guarding Gilderoy Lockhart last school year.
"Professor Dumbledore, after a fierce battle, we have captured Sirius Black!" Felix said excitedly. "Professor, may we borrow an empty classroom in the castle to temporarily detain Black?"
Belvina, standing to the side, glanced at Felix with dissatisfaction. His acting was terrible and over-the-top. Why did he have to create so many explosions? This is a fantasy movie, not a war movie!
"In addition, two other colleagues were injured," Felix said embarrassedly. "They were bitten by Blake—"
Upon hearing this, Belvina became even more dissatisfied. It was one thing to change the film type without permission, but why did you have to add your own drama?
Wait a minute! If I get bitten by Sirius Black's Animagus form, do I need to get a rabies vaccine?
"Black can be temporarily held in the West Tower, and Felius can help you guard him," Dumbledore said. "You know where the university hospital is; Poppy will heal you."
