Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 377 Too Hasty

With the help of the Portkey's teleportation function, Belvina returned safely to Hogwarts.

Belvina scrambled to her feet, looked around, and realized she had arrived at the Muggle Studies classroom.

Belvina, with one hand supporting her waist and the other holding onto the stair railing, slowly climbed the stairs like an old lady and entered the private lounge.

Upon returning to her private lounge, the first thing she did was find paper and pen and write a note to Bassheda.

Then, she took out her wand and lit the note, which would soon appear in front of Bassheda.

After doing all this, Belvina slumped into an armchair and drifted off to sleep.

When Belvina opened her eyes again, it was already pitch black outside the window, and a warm, bright flame burned in the fireplace.

"You're awake," Bassheda's voice rang out in the lounge.

"How long have I been asleep?" Belvina gently rubbed her temples, but her fatigue was not effectively relieved.

"It's past dinnertime now," said Bassheda. "Professor Dumbledore came by once, and he told me not to wake you."

Belvina raised her hands, rubbing her temples with her thumbs.

“There’s something I have to tell you,” Bassheda continued. “Barty Crouch Jr. is dead.”

"

Belvina was stunned. Barty Crouch Jr. was still alive when she left. How could Barty Crouch Jr. have died after she took a nap?

"I don't know the specifics, I only know that Fudge and Barty talked alone for a long time," Bassheda continued. "Not long after Fudge left the West Tower, Barty died."

Belvina jumped to her feet and asked, "Is Fudge still at school?"

"He should still be at school," Bassheda said uncertainly. "After leaving the West Tower, he went straight to the principal's office."

Belvina walked into the bathroom without saying a word, turned on the tap, and began washing her face.

The repeated impact of the cold water cleared my dazed mind, washing away my drowsiness and weariness into the sewer and into the black lake.

A conscious Belvina walked out of the bathhouse, tucking her disheveled long hair into a bun at the back of her head.

She said, "I'm going to the principal's office now."

"Belvina, has the mysterious man really returned?" Bassheda asked, her increasingly round face full of worry.

"Yes." Belvina paused in her movements. "The Dark Lord is back. I saw it with my own eyes, and Professor Dumbledore saw it too."

"The war is about to begin, isn't it?" Bassheda asked worriedly, concerned for Belvina and her best friend who might meet with misfortune during the war.

Belvina tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and said in a deep voice, "My dear, the war has never truly ended. It was just a thirteen-year truce. Now that the Dark Lord has returned, we should wake up from the illusion of peace."

After saying that, Belvina left the lounge; she had to rush to the principal's office.

Bassheda did not leave with them; she remained alone in the lounge, curling up in an armchair.

Whether it's a continuation of the war from more than a decade ago or the start of a new round of war, it won't change the cruel nature of war. Where there is war, there will be death.

Bassheda sighed and buried her face in her knees. If she could, she hoped the war would end soon, and she hoped Belvina could get through it safely.

On the other side, Belvina left the lounge and went straight to the principal's office.

She passed through the gargoyle-shaped stone beast on the eighth floor, stepped onto the slowly ascending spiral staircase, and arrived at the office door.

"Impossible, absolutely impossible!"

Cornelius Fudge's voice came through the door, and he sounded like he was vehemently denying something.

"Barty Crook Jr. told me himself that he did it all; it was all his revenge against Crouch and the Ministry of Magic!"

Cornelius Fudge's voice sounded urgent, as if he desperately needed someone's approval, someone to endorse his ideas, anyone would do.

Belvina stepped forward and knocked on the door.

A moment later, the door opened automatically, and Belvina went inside.

There were only two people in the circular headmaster's office: Cornelius Fudge and Dumbledore.

Minister Fouché, dressed in his favorite striped outfit, paced back and forth in the room, looking very excited.

Dumbledore, on the other hand, remained calm and composed, sitting steadily behind his large desk as if he had anticipated everything that was happening.

"Belvina! You've come at just the right time!" Fudge exclaimed.

Upon seeing Belvina enter the office, Cornelius Fudge rushed to greet her as if she were his savior.

"Tell me, Belvina, you tell me, the mysterious man hasn't returned—he hasn't returned, has he?" Fudge looked at Belvina expectantly.

"I'm sorry, Minister," Belvina said, "The Dark Lord is back. He's really back."

Upon hearing this, Cornelius Fudge took a step back, looking at Belvina with confusion, as if Belvina had just said something strange.

"It's not April Fool's Day, Belvina, how could Mysterio be back?" Fudge said dramatically. "It's all Barty Crouch Jr.'s doing!"

Although it is unclear what Barty Crouch Jr. said to Connery Fudge, judging from Fudge's current demeanor, he is most likely preparing to play dumb and ignore the real facts.

"Connelly, you know what's going on with young Hangleton," Dumbledore said patiently. "How long are you going to keep denying it?"

Shortly after Belvina left with the Portkey, the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters from the Ministry of Magic arrived in Little Hangleton to deal with the magically caused incident that occurred there.

The Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters is indeed a professional team; they quickly altered the memories of the villagers of Little Hangleton, making them forget the apocalyptic rain of fire.

Next, the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters repaired Riddle House, which had been destroyed by fire, and found Barty Crouch's body buried in the courtyard.

Finally, these people came to the cemetery that had been burned to the ground, but the fire was too intense and the cemetery could not be repaired.

Connelly Fudge had seen the reports about the Little Hangleton incident and was well aware of the horrific conditions there.

Although he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, Fudge knew very well that the mysterious man might really have returned.

However, Cornelius Fudge was unwilling to face this cruel truth; he refused to accept that Mystic had truly returned, and he couldn't accept it.

"This is impossible, this is absolutely impossible—how could this be—Vagrant can't come back, he's been defeated by Harry Potter, everyone knows he failed—"

Muttering to himself, Connelly Fudge slumped into an armchair, his eyes filled with fear and panic.

"Voldemort is back, Cornelius," Dumbledore said patiently, as if he were trying to persuade a stubborn child.

When Cornelius Fudge, who was slumped over, heard "Voldemort," his body twitched violently involuntarily.

"We need to prepare for war," Dumbledore continued to urge. "We need to bring those suspected of being Death Eaters under control and strengthen the defenses of Azkaban."

Belvina frowned. Dumbledore was getting anxious; he feared these words might frighten the weak Cornelius Fudge.

If Belvina were the current Minister of Magic, she would certainly have followed Dumbledore's instructions, because that's what she thought too.

He secretly brought Lucius Malfoy and his ilk under control, while simultaneously strengthening the administration of Azkaban and increasing its defenses, in order to clip Voldemort's wings.

However, the current Minister of Magic is Cornelius Fudge, who would not agree to these measures; he does not have the courage to do so.

Worse still, Fudge would likely believe that Dumbledore is plotting something, intending to seize power.

"We also need to send a message to the giants, extending a hand of friendship to them, so they don't turn to Voldemort again," Dumbledore continued. "We also need—"

"Dumbledore!" Cornelius Fudge jumped up from his chair. "I'm the Minister for Magic!"

"This is bad. Dumbledore acted too hastily, and Fudge reacted rashly," Belvina thought to herself.
