Chapter 176 Land of Demon Gods

Chapter 176 Land of Demon Gods

Several days later, the two of them arrived at a deep abyss.

Deep beneath this abyss, more than 100,000 feet below, lies a spatial rift—the entrance to an ancient ruin. Various restrictions surround the rift, and many rocks float in mid-air. Each rock is covered with dense runes. These runes appear extremely ancient, and Gu Yan cannot discern which era they belong to.

These runes exude an aura of great age and antiquity.

"This place is called the Land of the Demon God. It's said to be the site of the legacy left behind by a god-level powerhouse from our ancient demon race. Whether it's true or not, nobody knows. Anyway, no one has ever seen anyone actually obtain any legacy inside, but it's true that there are a lot of treasures inside. I've been here twice with my mother and uncle," Mu Yue told Gu Yan.

Gu Yan's gaze fell upon the floating rocks, the runes on them faintly visible, and numerous array halos and rune imprints imprinted in the void. The array here was extremely powerful, and once one array was triggered, the others would trigger a chain reaction.

"The formation here is extraordinary. Every time, Mother and Uncle have to work together with other demigods and quasi-gods to stop the formation from operating for a moment, so that they can get in. You can't get in alone," Mu Yue said.

Gu Yan chuckled lightly: "The formations here are indeed quite difficult to deal with, but give me some time, and I think it shouldn't be a problem."

"No matter how powerful you are, you haven't become a god, have you?" Mu Yue said.

Gu Yan nodded: "No."

His current strength is actually equivalent to that of a quasi-god. Of course, Gu Yan will not become a god; he will only become an immortal.

"Every time my mother and the others come here, it takes them more than half a year to stop the formation here from operating for even a short while. You alone? Can you do it?" Mu Yue said.

Gu Yan smiled slightly, her smile as gentle as a spring breeze: "No problem."

Mu Yue was skeptical, but Gu Yan had already sat down cross-legged in mid-air. After sitting down, he began studying all the formations, a process that took him two days.

Two days later, Gu Yan began breaking the formation. With a wave of his hand, small flags appeared in his palm. The small flags emitted colorful light, and then they flew forward like shooting stars, embedding themselves in different rocks.

Gu Yan began to form hand seals, unleashing a series of dazzling spells.

Mu Yue had already erected a shield beside him, because if the formation failed to be broken, the formation would attack the person who tried to break it. He would definitely be affected.

Mu Yue tensed up, but Gu Yan remained completely calm. She calmly cast the incantation and then rapidly formed hand seals. The small flags planted on the floating rocks burst forth with dazzling light, which spread outwards.

Mu Yue saw countless huge magic array halos appear in her field of vision, and then she saw totems of strange beasts appearing in the magic arrays.

After a few moments of flowing runes and dazzling light flashing, the suspended rocks actually formed a stone bridge leading to the entrance of the ancient ruins.

Mu Yue was dumbfounded.

He actually succeeded in breaking through the formation.

It only took him two days, all by himself.

Just how strong is this guy?

Could he have really become a god?

Even if he didn't become a god, he's probably only half a step away from it. Maybe this guy is even closer to the god realm than Jiang Qian of the Heavenly Eye Empire. But it's so strange, why can't I sense any divinity from him?

While Mu Yue was still in shock, Gu Yan stood up and said to him, "It must be quite dangerous inside, so you shouldn't go in. I'll go in alone."

"No, I want to go in with you," Mu Yue said.

"what?"

"Since we're already here, why not go in? You asked me to bring you here, so you're responsible for my safety. My mother and my uncle can both guarantee my safety, so don't tell me you can't do it." Mu Yue's emerald eyes were cold, and her tone was matter-of-fact.

Gu Yan was somewhat exasperated by his attitude: "Alright, Your Highness!"

Gu Yan looked at the floating stone bridge in front of her and smiled as she gestured for them to proceed.

The silver-haired, blue-eyed demon prince gave a light snort and walked ahead. Gu Yan followed behind him, unable to help but think to herself: Huh? Before, it was always others who coaxed me, why is it the other way around now?

However, it was indeed he who wronged Mu Yue and her family first, so he was in the wrong and could only try to appease him.

And so, Gu Yan and Mu Yue entered the land of the demon god together.

The land of demons and gods.

The sky has no sun, moon, or stars; the firmament is a constantly changing, deep, dark blue, sometimes shimmering with aurora-like bands of light.

Gu Yan and Mu Yue floated in the void, before them lay an ancient ruin forgotten by time, solemn and silent. The air was stagnant, filled with dust and the unique, cold aura of ancient stone.

As far as the eye can see, there are crumbling giant pillars and the remains of a broken dome.

The towering stone pillars are carved with unrecognizable patterns and symbols, most of which have been eroded by wind and sand or some unknown force, leaving only blurred outlines. Broken statues lie among the rubble, their faces incomplete, yet their postures still exude a certain solemnity.

In the distance, the mountains stretched endlessly, and vast islands floated in the sky. These floating islands were connected by countless thick chains. Large swirling wisps of gray mist emanated from within it, accompanied by eerie sounds.

Because of the gray mist, even Gu Yan's divine sense couldn't perceive the true nature of the ruins. However, upon entering, he did sense several extremely powerful auras, the origins of which he couldn't discern: demons? Humans? Ferocious beasts? Or something else entirely?

"Follow me." After saying this, Mu Yue flew towards a place ahead.

Gu Yan followed Mu Yue as they flew over ruins and rubble, avoiding countless floating rocks.

"The jade pendant my mother wore was found in a cave on the mountain peak ahead. She felt that the jade was extraordinary, and that the carving was very delicate, and that it had the effect of nourishing the spirit, so she wore it with her," Mu Yue told Gu Yan.

Gu Yan listened to him speak while looking around.

Many places bear the marks of past battles.

Are these traces left by powerful demons who entered this place and fought battles, or were they there originally?

The fog ahead was getting thicker and thicker, and the area that my divine sense could see was getting smaller and smaller.

Suddenly, Gu Yan sensed an extremely dangerous aura. His expression changed, and he reached out and pulled Mu Yue, teleporting her to a chain extending from a nearby floating island.

boom--

A thick, red-black beam of light, several meters long, struck, shattering a massive, floating island in front of it. The deafening roar echoed throughout the ruins.

Mu Yue's expression changed drastically, turning pale. The beam of light was too fast; if Gu Yan hadn't pulled him away, he wouldn't have been able to dodge it and would now be seriously injured.
