Chapter 137 The Hogwarts Adventure Team
With the weeping Myrtle's account and Sir Nicholas's firsthand testimony, the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets gradually emerges. When Professor McGonagall arrives with Parseltongue Harry, the millennia-old legend will be revealed, and the Chamber of Secrets of Slytherin will be unveiled to the world.
Before that, Belvina and the others need to adjust their condition to deal with the dangers that are about to come.
Belvina gently rubbed her wand, mentally rehearsing her plan to deal with the basilisk, checking for any omissions or flaws.
Bassheda, standing beside her, rummaged through her pockets, examining the ancient runes she carried. These hand-carved runes might not be as powerful as spells, but they could come in handy at crucial moments.
Paul, standing by the door, made final adjustments to the alchemical doll. He knew that the doll had to distract the basilisk and withstand its first wave of attacks.
Before long, Hagrid's tall figure appeared at the entrance of the girls' restroom. He was still wearing that rat-skin coat and had a large leather bag on his back.
Hagrid, bent over and tilting his head, said somewhat awkwardly, "Can anyone tell me what happened here?"
Ever since that night in the principal's office, Hagrid hadn't been able to face Belvina; he already knew he had misunderstood her.
On the other hand, it was also because of Aragog in the Forbidden Forest.
"The secret room is right here, the girls' restroom. How amazing!" Paul said. "Aren't you going in? It's not a common opportunity to visit a girls' restroom."
Hagrid shook his messy, hairy head and said, "I brought all the roosters, and I promise they're as strong as me."
"Thanks, Hagrid," Belvina said. "Hopefully the rooster will work."
As they were talking, Professor McGonagall finally arrived with Harry, followed closely by Ron and Hermione.
After Professor McGonagall took Harry away from the common room, Ron and Hermione secretly followed and trailed him.
For safety reasons, Professor McGonagall did not send Ron and Hermione away, allowing them to stay with her for the time being.
As soon as Professor McGonagall entered the washroom, she immediately said, "A first-year student has gone missing, Ginny Weasley from Gryffindor. Nobody knows where she is. I have already notified the Weasleys."
Behind Professor McGonagall, all three of Harry, Ron, and Hermione had tears in their eyes, and Ron even needed Hermione's support to stand.
"Was she kidnapped by the monster in the Chamber of Secrets?" Professor McGonagall asked. She couldn't believe that a first-year student would be the one to open the Chamber, especially since this student was a hereditary Gryffindor.
"It's not certain yet, Professor," Belvina said. "It seems we have to go down and check. I'll try to bring Miss Weasley back safe and sound."
Hermione, her eyes red-rimmed, suddenly interrupted, her voice trembling, "Professor Black, was the monster in the Chamber of Secrets a Basilisk? I read about it in the books, and Harry speaks Parsley—so I think—"
Hermione's voice grew softer and softer until it was barely audible. She dared not continue speaking, nor dared she continue thinking.
"The monster in the secret room is indeed a basilisk. You are very clever, Miss Granger," Belvina said calmly.
Upon receiving Belvina's confirmation, Hermione's body went limp. Had Harry not been quick enough to peck at her, Hermione and Ron would have plunged into the filthy puddle.
“I’ll go with you, so we can look out for each other,” Professor McGonagall said. “I think I can still be of help—” Harry, Ron, and Hermione behind her chimed in, “Me too!”
Gryffindor's courage and loyalty are once again demonstrated; courage and loyalty are perhaps the most precious qualities in the world.
Belvina waved her hand and said, "Professor, you must stay and oversee things until Professor Dumbledore returns. Also, Fawkes is in my common room; I'll trouble you to inform Professor Dumbledore."
Bassheda stood next to Belvina and said, "I won't let Belvina face danger alone. I'll always be by her side."
"Although I really don't want to face the basilisk," Paul slung his suitcase back over his shoulder, "if I come back alive, could I get a raise?"
Professor McGonagall said nothing more. Before Dumbledore returned, no one was more suitable than the highly respected Vice-Headmaster to keep the entire school in order. Professor McGonagall gently nudged Harry and handed him over to Belvina.
"Hagrid, take Mr. Weasley and Miss Granger back to Gryffindor Tower," Professor McGonagall ordered.
"No problem, Professor McGonagall," Hagrid replied, handing the leather bag containing the attack to the nearest Paul Bernard before turning to leave with Ron and Hermione.
But Ron and Hermione didn't want to leave; they wanted to go with them to rescue Ginny Weasley.
The two first looked at Vice Principal Professor McGonagall, but she completely ignored them. They then looked at Belvina, hoping Professor Black would take them along.
"Miss Granger, now that you've figured out the monster in the secret room is a basilisk, you should also know how deadly it is," Belvina said. "I don't want to waste my energy protecting you, nor will I."
If Harry weren't Parseltongue and didn't have the Void Reaver, Belvina wouldn't even want to take him along.
No matter how capable Harry, Ron, and Hermione become in the future, they are currently just a burden, and Belvina is unlikely to take them to the Chamber of Secrets.
"Alright, Harry, now let's see what you've got!" Belvina said, leading Harry to the pool and pointing out the faucet with the snake carved on it.
Harry glanced at Belvina with a blank look, then stared at the faucet in front of him in confusion. It took him a while to realize what he was supposed to do.
"Open it," Harry said.
"No, you're speaking human language."
Harry tried to imagine the snake carving on the faucet as a real snake, and he spoke again: "Open it."
This time, Harry made a strange sound. Suddenly, the faucet emitted a dazzling white light.
It started spinning rapidly.
Then, the sink started moving, and everyone in the washroom watched as it slowly disappeared from sight, revealing a very thick water pipe, big enough for a person to crawl into.
"Excellent! The exciting adventure is about to begin!" Belvina said, pulling Harry aside to make room for her. "The Potter prince will save the Weasley princess."
Belvina's relaxed tone touched everyone, and a faint, tiny hope rose in their hearts—Ginny Weasley must still be alive, waiting for them to come and rescue her.
A charcoal doll, controlled by Paul, was the first to jump into the pipe, followed closely by Belvina and Harry. Paul was the third to jump in, with Basilda bringing up the rear.
When the four people entered the water pipe one after another, the white light in the washroom shone again, the water pipe disappeared, and everything returned to normal.
Belvina felt very uncomfortable in the water pipe; her brow never relaxed. The dark, sticky, endless slide was not a water park ride at all.
Heimer's water pipes twisted and turned, winding and turning, with a very steep slope all the way down.
They finally reached the ground only after sliding very, very deep beneath the school grounds, where the water pipes became horizontal.
I felt grounded.
Belvina ignored the filth on her body, holding her wand in one hand, carefully listening to all the sounds around her, and shielding Harry behind her with the other.
After landing, Bassheda, who was last to arrive, first cleaned her own clothes, then helped the vigilant Belvina and Paul clean theirs, and finally Harry, who had the key to the game.
At this moment, Paul put down his suitcase, and the second alchemical figure emerged. The two alchemical figures, one in front and one behind, protected everyone in the middle.
Belvina squinted, surveying the dark, sticky walls around her. She thought to herself: Where the hell did I get here?!
"I think we're miles underground now," Paul whispered. "Salvazar Slytherin's got some digging skills!" His voice echoed through the dark tunnel.
The four people in the tunnel were Belvina, a Slytherin; Bassheda, a Hufflepuff; Paul, a Ravenclaw; and Harry, a Gryffindor—just enough to make up all four houses.
"If I knew where Salazar was buried, I would dig him up, burn him to ashes, and flush him down the toilet into the Black Lake," Belvina said. "Harry, get your wand ready."
After angrily berating the academy's patriarch, Belvina whispered instructions: "Don't look up, don't look straight ahead, keep your eyes on the ground as much as possible, and close your eyes if you hear any strange noises."
As he finished speaking, the acacia wood emitted a faint glow, just enough to illuminate the path beneath his feet.
"I hate this place, it's damp, dark, and oppressive," said Bassheda, throwing a runestone at her feet as she spoke.
"Who isn't?" Paul said. "Let's go, be careful."
After saying that, the puppet standing at the front started to move, and Belvina and the other three cautiously followed behind.
