Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 138 Slytherin's Ambition

Chapter 138 Slytherin's Ambition

Chapter 138 Slytherin's Ambition

The pitch-black tunnel was as silent as a tomb, dark and still.

Belvina's footsteps pattered on the wet ground; she tried her best to control her strength, but the sound of her footsteps was still amplified infinitely.

As they continued to venture deeper, they found more and more small animal bones on the ground, and everyone's heart sank as they realized their destination was getting closer.

Suddenly, the alchemical doll at the front stopped in its tracks and did not move forward.

Belvina took out a mirror, placed it in front of her, and said, "Close your eyes, right now."

As she spoke, Belvina pointed her wand at the silhouette of the enormous creature in the distance, and a beam of light shot out from the tip of the wand, landing near the motionless silhouette.

Belvina's gamble paid off; the outline wasn't a basilisk, but rather a snake's molted skin, a vibrant green that appeared to be at least twenty feet long.

Belvina dared to take the gamble only because the alchemical doll was unharmed, and luckily she made the right bet.

"It's a snake's molt," Belvina whispered. "I think we're pretty close."

Bassheda, Paul, and Harry opened their eyes and saw the huge snake skin coiled on the ground.

"Merlin's beard!" Paul exclaimed. "I don't even want to know how big it must be now!"

Harry looked at the snake molt and thought about the bones of the small animals, trying desperately not to think about what Ginny would look like when they found her.

"Let's continue, everyone be careful," Belvina cautioned. "Don't look into the basilisk's eyes, and if possible, destroy its eyes."

After saying that, the alchemical doll walked forward again, with Belvina and the others following behind, turning a dark bend in the tunnel.

The hastily assembled four-person adventure team was quite lucky. Apart from the false alarm of the snake shedding its skin, they did not encounter any other strange events. The eerie shadows on the damp walls continued to accompany them, neither more nor less.

The tunnel twisted and turned, and Belvina and the others followed suit. When they carefully rounded the last bend, they finally reached the end of the tunnel.

A solid wall stood there, with two intertwined snakes carved on it, their eyes inlaid with large, glittering emeralds.

"Harry!" Belvina whispered.

Belvina led Harry to the stone wall, where two alchemical figures stood in front of him.

Harry stared at the two stone snakes, his throat dry and his eyes sore. The eyes of the stone snakes shimmered with a faint green light.

"Open it," Ha said in a deep, husky voice.

The two snakes parted, the stone wall split in the middle, and slowly slid to both sides and disappeared, revealing two alchemical dolls inside. Belvina slowly let out a sigh of relief and stepped inside.

Behind the stone wall was a long, dimly lit room with towering stone pillars on the left and right sides, carved with coiled serpents, the tops of which disappeared into the darkness.

In the mysterious, empty room, shimmering with green light, long, eerie shadows were cast by two rows of parallel stone pillars. Coupled with the serpent monster lurking somewhere, everything in the secret chamber was chilling.

Belvina reminded everyone to be careful again, then raised her wand high, and the faint glow at the tip of the wand was emitted like a flare.

As the faint glow rose high, it burst forth with a light as bright as sunlight, temporarily dispelling the mysterious nitrogen box in the sealed room, making the huge room as bright as day.

The sunlight shines brightly!

One of the variations of the Wand Illumination Charm.

Thanks to Belvina's artificial sun, everyone was able to get a glimpse of the entire secret room.

At the other end of the secret chamber stood a statue as tall as the room itself, pressed against the dark wall behind it—a statue of Salazar Slytherin!

An old, aged face, a sparse beard, a wizard's robe carved from stone that reached the ground, and large, dusty feet stepping on the ground—the enormous statue exuded an overwhelming sense of oppression.

Belvina stared in astonishment, momentarily forgetting that she was in the Chamber of Secrets. She was deeply shocked by Salazar Slytherin's ambition; the Chamber of Secrets was not merely a place to house the Basilisk, but a embodiment of Salazar Slytherin's ideology.

The magnificent statues, the towering serpent pillars, the secret rooms that can accommodate many people, and the legend of the Chamber of Secrets that has been passed down for thousands of years—all these are the marks left by Salazar Slytherin, his exclusive mark engraved on Hogwarts—that is, Salazar Slytherin is the greatest wizard among the four great wizards!

Leaving the Basilisk and eliminating all those unworthy of learning magic was merely a minor part of Slytherin's plan, which later generations revered as a cornerstone, and this was the work of the Little Great Salazar Slytherin!

Just as Belvina's heart was churning with emotions, Gryffindor's courage turned into recklessness, and Harry broke free from Belvina and ran forward desperately.

Beneath the statue of Salazar Slytherin stood a small figure in a black robe, her fiery red hair identifying her as Ginny Weasley!

"Ginny!" Harry shouted, so excited that he completely forgot about the basilisk lurking in the shadows.

Harry ran forward with all his might, but he suddenly realized that it was as if a rope was tied around his waist. The invisible rope suddenly pulled backward, carrying him flying backward with it.

Harry was thrown backward by the magic, and his feet had barely left the ground when the red-glowing spell landed.

If Bathsheba hadn't been focused enough to use the Summoning Charm to summon Harry's clothes and drag him back, clothes and all, we might be able to start the meal right now.

"Harry Potter! I've heard so much about you!"

That was Ginny's voice, but it wasn't Ginny's voice either. It sounded like a man and a woman speaking at the same speed and in the same tone, all at the same time.

The small figure beneath the colossus turned around; fiery red hair and adorable freckles—it was the Weasley family's youngest daughter.

But her eyes gleamed with an eerie and brutal red light.

Belvina walked slowly forward, followed closely by two alchemical idols like bodyguards.

"You're not Ginny Weasley, so who are you?" Belvina asked as she walked. "Let me guess?"

Ginny, standing beneath the colossus, clutched a wand in one hand and an old notebook in the other. Her once innocent face was now twisted in malice, her brows and eyes filled with malice. She was no longer a first-grader.

"Who are you?" Ginny asked in a mixed male and female voice. "Oh, Belvina Black, Muggle Studies Professor." Ginny's tone was dismissive.

With her hands behind her back, like a child trying to imitate an adult, Ginny continued contemptuously, "Has the eternally pure Black family fallen so low? Poor Black."

"Degeneration? Well, even if it's degeneration, at least I can stand in the sunlight and breathe freely." Belvina's tone was warm, like a reunion with an old friend. She continued, "It's better than hiding in Albania, never seeing the light of day, don't you think?"

Tom?

Before Dumbledore left, Belvina approached him and directly addressed the Aragogack issue, stating that the eight-eyed spiders in the Forbidden Forest were a sword hanging over Hogwarts' heads, ready to fall at any moment.

During that brief private conversation, Dumbledore expressed his suspicions, believing that the person who opened the Chamber of Secrets fifty years ago was Tom Riddle, Voldemort in his student days.

Today, Voldemort is still Voldemort in Albania, so who opened the secret room fifty years later?

When Belvina entered the Chamber of Secrets and stood before the Slytherin statue, looking at the tiny Ginny Weasley before her, all her doubts were answered.

"Since you know it's me, how dare you stand here and talk to me?"

"Otherwise, should I kneel down and kowtow to you? My knees aren't very good, and the ground is too cold."

Belvina wasn't sure how powerful Voldemort, who was "possessed" by Ginny, was, so she stood there and tried to talk him out of turn, hoping to find out his true strength.

While Belvina and Tom Riddle were bickering, Paul released two more alchemical dolls, which slowly moved nearby, ready to support Belvina at any time. Meanwhile, Bassheda held down the scarred brute and stayed behind at the back, neither too close to become the primary target of attack, nor too far away to be separated from the team and unable to receive support.

"Fifty years ago, you opened the Chamber of Secrets, petrified several students, and killed Myrtle Warren," Belvina said. "Fifty years later, you manipulated Miss Weasley to open the Chamber of Secrets again. How did you do that?"

As she spoke, Belvina's gaze fell on the notebook in Ginny's hand.
