Chapter 169 Anger
The next morning, Belvina and Harry left the farmhouse early, where a Ministry of Magic car was waiting for them.
Thanks to Harry, Belvina also recovered, and she even managed to get a ride in a Ministry of Magic vehicle.
It was an old-fashioned dark green car, and the driver, with a mysterious expression, was waiting by the roadside in a bright green velvet suit.
The driver, dressed like a cucumber come to life, tipped his hat and took Harry's suitcase, putting it in the trunk. Belvina and Harry then climbed into the back seat.
The Ministry of Magic's cars look unremarkable from the outside, but they have spacious interiors and can take unconventional routes like knight buses.
Compared to the thrilling ride on the dirt bus, the Ministry of Magic's drivers were steady and drove smoothly all the way, never suddenly scrambling onto the sidewalk, and never needing streetlights to give way to the cars.
However, it's unrealistic to expect wizards to completely obey traffic rules. Weaving through traffic is just a piece of cake; occasionally, they'll even stomp right in front of a row of cars.
When they arrived at King's Cross Station, there was still more than half an hour before their train departed. The driver, dressed in bright green, found a trolley for Belvina and Harry and even helped them load their suitcases onto it.
After finishing all this, the Ministry of Magic driver once again tipped his hat before driving the car away.
Belvina went into the station first, and Harry followed behind, pushing the trolley with a thud. Before long, they arrived between platforms 9 and 10.
Empty-handed, Belvina looked around, then casually leaned against the platform wall, instantly passing through it into Platform 9¾, where a bright red locomotive was belching smoke.
Harry, pushing his stroller, then passed through the wall without being stopped outside as he had been the previous year.
Belvina took her suitcase off the trolley and asked again, "Are you sure you don't want to be in the same carriage as me?"
Belvina had been feeling uneasy since morning. She was still worried about the Dementors and felt that the Ministry of Magic would shoot itself in the foot if it released them.
"No, I'm going to find Ron and Hermione." Harry shook his head. "I'll take care of myself, I won't go looking for Sirius, and I won't mess with the Dementors."
Although she knew that not a single word Harry said could be trusted, Belvina felt a sense of great comfort, as if her beloved son had grown up overnight.
Unmarried, childless, and experienced in raising children—that perfectly describes Belvina.
Just as the two were talking, the Weasley twins suddenly appeared.
"Harry!"
"And Professor Blake!"
Fred and George exclaimed in unison, "How did you two end up together?"
Having spent two years with Belvina, the Weasley twins were considered Professor Black's favorite students, and she quite liked the Lee brothers who were born on April Fool's Day.
"Didn't Ron tell you that I spent the summer with the professor?" Harry said. "Right here in Fertile Ground."
The Weasley twins were chatting with Harry when Arthur Weasley walked over; he must have heard the twins shouting.
Like other members of the Weasley family, Arthur had fiery red hair, but unfortunately, he was starting to go bald in middle age. He wore glasses and was tall and thin.
"I'm sorry to trouble you, Belvina," Mr. Weasley said politely, his tone and manner reminiscent of Harry's father.
Belvina smiled and extended her right hand, saying, "Then I'll leave Harry to you. He's been nagging me to go find Ron."
Mr. Weasley also extended his hand and gracefully grasped Belvina's fingers, the two shaking hands as if exchanging a baton.
"Ron and Ginny are also clamoring for Harry, only Hermione is relatively quiet," Mr. Weasley said with a smile. "And my two mischievous sons, I hope they haven't caused you any trouble in class, Belvina."
"On the contrary, Arthur," Belvina said. "Fred and George bring a lot of smiles to the faces of those around them."
Fred exclaimed excitedly, "Dad, did you hear that? George and I brought smiles to everyone's faces!"
George quickly added, "Bring smiles, bring joy, Mom should hear that too!"
Mr. Weasley said helplessly, "There are many kinds of smiles. A smile can be a happy smile, or it can be a helpless smile."
Do you two want to see Mom laugh in exasperation?
Upon hearing this, Fred and George immediately fell silent. The two brothers, who were fearless of everything, were only afraid of Mrs. Weasley. Although the family was not very wealthy, Belvina still envied the harmonious and loving conversation between the Weasley father and son.
After exchanging a few more casual words with Mr. Weasley, Belvina made an excuse to leave, picked up her suitcase, and boarded the bright red steam locomotive.
Walking along the aisle, Belvina randomly found an empty compartment and sat down by herself.
Just like two years ago, Belvina dialed the keypad to adjust the suitcase's settings and took out "Wandering with Werewolves" from the neatly arranged books.
As the departure time of the Hogwarts Express drew ever closer, the steam locomotive's whistle grew increasingly urgent, urging the students still on the platform to hurry and board the train.
After another loud whistle, the guards walked along the train and closed the doors one by one.
The bright red steam locomotive slowly emitted steam and began to move, gradually accelerating only after leaving Platform 9¾.
Footsteps echoed in the aisle outside the cubicle, students chatted from time to time, and the sound of handcart wheels rolling by could be heard two or three times, but no one opened the cubicle door.
Undisturbed, Belvina carefully read "Wandering with Werewolves," analyzing how Lockhart interacted with werewolves and secretly summarizing the experiences and lessons learned from the book.
Before she knew it, it started raining outside the car window. The cold rain lashed against the window, but Belvina remained engrossed in her book, her brow gradually furrowing.
The train sped northward, the rain outside the window growing heavier and heavier, turning the window a watery gray and gradually darkening.
After a while, the lights in the aisle and on the luggage racks suddenly came on, the train clattered, raindrops pattered, and the wind howled outside the window.
Belvina looked up and slammed the book, "Wandering with Werewolves," shutting it down. She thought most of the book was nonsense; there was no need to be so troublesome about living with werewolves.
Suddenly, the train began to slow down, its speed decreasing, and the sound of wind and rain gradually drowned out the sound of the train wheels.
Belvina looked out the dark window, her face reflected in the glass.
The train screeched to a halt, and then all the lights in the carriages went out for no apparent reason, plunging the steam locomotive into complete darkness.
Belvina got up, opened the compartment door, and stepped out with her wand in hand. The sudden darkness caused chaos in the carriage, with people occasionally letting out painful screams.
"I am Belvina Black, please calm down!" Belvina shouted. "Take out your wands, light them! Have you all forgotten you are wizards?!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a faint light appeared in the carriage, dispelling the sudden darkness.
A student, wand in hand, peered out of the cubicle and called out, "Professor, what's going on? Why did the car suddenly stop?"
Belvina didn't know what was going on either. She shouted, "Please stay calm, don't forget you're a wizard, and don't leave your cubicles for now—"
Before he could finish speaking, the temperature inside the carriage suddenly dropped, and a bone-chilling cold instantly swept through the entire carriage, causing the raindrops on the windows to gradually freeze.
Immediately afterwards, a Dementor appeared at each end of the carriage. The cloaked figures were tall and large, their faces completely hidden under the hoods. Their grayish-white, sinister hands rested on the compartment doors, and as they slowly slid the doors open, a scream rang out!
"Damn bastard!" Belvina cursed, a silver glint appearing at the tip of her acacia staff.
The pristine, silvery-white cow cat leaped high into the air, its four paws slamming heavily onto the Dementor's chest. The Dementor fell backward, revealing its repulsive body beneath its tattered cloak.
The Dementor's body seemed to be covered in slime and spots, like something that had died and rotted in water.
At the same time, Belvina turned towards the other end of the carriage, and the silver light shone again. Another holy, silver-white cow cat appeared, and the guardian angel nimbly leaped over the carriage, rushing straight towards the Dementor at the other end.
The two Dementors that had barged into the carriage were driven away, but the two cow-and-cow cat guardians did not stop and each headed towards the next carriage.
As the biting chill and suffocating despair dissipated, a few of the bolder students ventured out of the cubicle. They then heard Professor Black mutter a vicious curse: "Damn bastards, did they think I was going to hide Sirius under my skirt?!"
